Keg @ Grizzly Peak. Deep brown with a tight head. General chocolate malt. A bit of caramel. Has some shag tobacco, leafy bitterness. raisin yeastiness. A touch watery. Spritzy. Mild mineral. MarkSachon (1048) - Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 7, 2017
Draft at Grizzly Peak in Ann Arbor, Michigan. A bit on the weak side, thinner than thicker on body. No kick at all. Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - MAY 19, 2017
Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a dark brown color with a thin white cap of a little foamy head. Left some messy lace.
The aroma had some roasted malts, but a good dose of milk chocolate. Crisp nuts at the end.
The flavor leaned towards the sweetness and kindly developed a light dose of that roast. Aftertaste was sweet with the nuts and chocolate. Finish was semi-sticky and sweet.
The palate was absorbent with the malts producing a light stickiness to it. Also, it had a body between light and medium. Low carbonation. ABV felt fine.
Overall, if anything, well, it’s a really smooth one, but with the stickiness, well, maybe as it wasn’t cloying. chucklemation (1759) - Royal Oak, Michigan, USA - OCT 1, 2016
Pours a jet black with an off-white foam head. Aroma is roast, chocolate, mineral, and earth. Flavor is chocolate, roast, and earth. Has a thin, well-carbonated body. This is a decent, light malty drink that would be better without the mineral on the nose. miyauchi38 (1117) - chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 18, 2015

Tap at the brew pub. Dark brown, sweet raisin aroma. Sweet, some cocoa and prune. Medium finish. koleminer20 (3956) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - OCT 20, 2015
On draft at Grizzly Peak. The pour is a thin dark brown with a bit of amber shining through. There is a light off white film of head and a couple spots of lace. The aroma is pretty bland. There is a little malt, maybe a hint of chocolate and for the lost part, it's pretty watery. I know it's not going to be huge, but malt water isn't great. The flavor is much of the same. There is a nice chocolate and roasted malt, but there isn't any complexity. It's all right out there in the thin and light flavor. It's sweet on the back end. The mouth feel is thin and light with a barely there carbonation and a quick fading, sharp aftertaste. Quick and sweet malt. I wanted a lot more

Pour on tap at the brewery, dark brownish black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of dark fruit, coffee, some roast into some cocoa, hints of slight smoky notes into a bit of spice. Taste is a mix of caramel, toffee, roast, slight cocoa powder into a bit of coffee, slight yeast, finishing smoky, slightly sweet. mintzmeet (458) - Seattle, Washington, USA - SEP 5, 2013
Smells like chocolate and coffee. Nice lacing. Good roasted malty flavor but not smokey. Pretty smooth with carbonated bite. Bbq. chinchill (5311) - South Carolina, USA - AUG 15, 2013
On tap at the brewpub. An outstanding porter, as validated by the two enthusiastic homebrewers with me on this excursion. Has a rich, dark roasted malt flavor with faint smoke but no burnt notes. Lasting roasty aftertaste. Nothing unusual here, just a very well crafted porter.
Near black in the glass, it is clear and has a partially durable tan head. Smooth. Recommended.
