Not too different than the lager. Tastes a little maltier. Slightly roasted notes on the nose and taste. Really crispy head. Malty, skunky taste. Not too bad.

Northfield, MA. Amber body with okay head. Malty and caramel nose. Toasty flavour. Not too similar to Grolsch. Watery. Okay. dwaggs2 (1298) - Jefferson City, Missouri, USA - FEB 11, 2009
Bottle. Pours an amber color with a one finger head. Aroma is malts with caramel almost no hops. Pretty watery. Not a very good aftertaste. OK at best nqualls (1452) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - FEB 5, 2009
12 oz bottle. Poured a clear amber color with a thin off white head. The aroma was mainly caramel, but a hint of hops was present. The flavor was toasty, with an earthy hop finish.

This beer poured with a generous head and a deep amber color. The aroma is light caramel maltiness balanced by a touch of hops. Medium bodied with good drinkability, the taste is pretty similar to the smell. Very nicely balanced, this is a decent beer.

12oz bottle. Poured a ruby to amber color with a half inch head that dissipated quickly, but left heavy lacing.
Smelled of sweet malt, medium hoppines for the style, with a fruity touch. Tasted of toasted grains, spicy top hops, and a bit of mellow fruit. Just a touch heavy on the carbonation. A bit of bite on the back of the tongue, not bad but a wee bit much for the mellow flavor.
A fine session beer. BeerHawk (1811) - Huntsville, Alabama, USA - DEC 22, 2008
Bottle. Poured amber with a creamy off-white head that left light lace. Initial aroma of sulfur like lit matches. This fades to grain and burnt malts. The flavor is mainly caramel malts. Light body. Rciesla (5607) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - OCT 23, 2008
Bottle. Amber body with 2 finger head. Lightly malty with some hop bitterness. Plain and simple a miss in my eyes. thornecb (6058) - Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA - SEP 28, 2008
Pours deep amber into a shaker. Fluffy off-white pancake batter head leaves spotty sheets. Stale caramel aromas. Crisp with deep sweet caramel upfront and a dry malty finish.
