Bottle. When a beer calls itself Speciale you expect something out of the ordinary. This is what this is not.Golden creamy appearance but after that ts all down hill. All you get is a bottle of coloured water and total blandness. Beyond all hope.

Bottle. Golden with a large head of foam. Aromas are grassy and floral with tropical fruit. Some grain with citrus and peach. Flavours are sweet grain and biscuit malts with peaches. Reminded me of Badger Golden Glory.

altonbrownd (5897) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - APR 14, 2008
Bottle from Bier Koning. Clear colour. Hoppy, fruity nose. Quite enjoy this one. I hear they’re not selling too well. But a good mix of citrus, hops and that distinctive Grolsch flavour. Sweet, crisp flavour. Very smooth and well done.

caesar (7165) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - APR 13, 2008
Bottled. Clear golden color, medium white head. Aroma of hop, some pilsner malt, good floral notes. Bit crisp taste, bitter, malty. Strong for a pilsener. Nice stuff.

Nice golden clear pilsner with a white head. Fresh lightly sour taste. Nice as onetimer, great for a good night out.

Courtesy of bierkoning, ty Edo!
Golden color, small white head. Papery, floral hoppy nose, quite light. Light papery, grassy flavor. Sweet maltyness in the background, but lacks buttery notes of "real" Bohemian pilsner. Drinkable, propably not so far from normal Grolsch. This bottle was slightly off-date, so I suppose hops are more bitter when fresh.

UPDATED: JAN 5, 2008 2 flesjes €0,99. Lekker. Heel kruidig vergeleken met het normale Grolsch. Ik vraag me af of het iets weg heeft van een bier uit de proeftijdserie. Een leuke verrassing.

SHIG (4962) - Wasilla, Alaska, USA - NOV 17, 2007
Bottle: Poured a golden color with thin white head. The aroma is fruit and hoppy, but there is sweetness i can’t quite catch. Nice smooth start that finished hoppy and full of flavor.

Golden coulor, thin head, nice smell some bohemian parts in it, just as good as hertog jan primator.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2008 Bottled. Golden coloured, impressive head. Flowery and hoppy nose, but also some fruits and malts. Somewhat sweet malty flavour, but in finish more hops and bitterness. I’m actually pretty impressed by this new beer from Grolsch, it’s way better than their normal pilsener. It doesn’t have the solid hop-bitterness as e.g. Brand Urtyp or Christoffel Blond, but it’s pretty smooth and certainly suitable to drink more in a row. Thanks to my mom for bringing it.
