10th October 2008. GABF. Clear brown beer. Sour fruit with a real zing that doesn’t quite produce a pucker. Dry sweet spicy finish. Nutty as well. Unlike anything else had at the festival. fiver29 (1036) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - FEB 8, 2009
Thanks again Steve for sharing this one. Dark brown pour with no head. Aroma was caramel, fruit, and some tartness. Tasted much like the nose. Had more malt than was expected, still had some tartness to it, and finished in a wierd way. Nice brew. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 24, 2009
On tap at Grumpy Troll. Poured clear garnety-amber with no head.. nice color to it. The aroma picked up sour cherry vinegar upfront with touches of green apple.. syrupy darker fruits beneath.. off-putting, but it was definitely aligned with the description. The flavor had tart cherries and apple cider upfront with lots of berries behind.. finished sour with ample vinegary acidity. Sour on the palate and on the dry side.. odd feel and flow.. definitely smelled better than it tasted. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - NOV 18, 2008
(Draught) Pours an amber-brown body with a small beige head. Aroma of cocoa, roasted malt, nuts, cherries, toffee, and some apple. Flavor of caramel, roasted malt, cherries, white grapes, and some sweettarts with a dry finish. beastiefan2k (4007) - HdG (past: NYC, KS, Rain City), Maryland, USA - OCT 13, 2008
GABF’08. Brown colored beer. Aroma is very vegetal, like corn fermenting type faint sourness. Its weird and I did not enjoy it all that much. Taste is a but better with some roast and rotting cherries. Either way it seems to not hit the mark for me.

G.A.B.F. 2008: Deep copper/brown with a dense khaki head. The aroma has some toasted malts, cocoa, mild nutty notes and raspberry. Has a flavor that’s both tart-ish and toasted. Mild cocoa, toasted vanilla, tart raspberry like notes and other nondescript fruitiness. Pretty nice stuff. wetherel (1884) - Cupertino, California, USA - OCT 13, 2008
tap. Big small bubble head. Mild sour aroma. Some oxidation. Medium to mild sourness. Easy to drink. 3fourths (9349) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - OCT 12, 2008
Cloudy dark brown colored body with a tan head. First smell suggest Oud Bruin - nuts, oak, light funk, some lactic milk notes, small notes of almonds and toffee as well. Sourness is mild, mostly a soft note of creamed cherries underneath a toasted bread crust and bran malt profile. Turns to dog food and sour bread in the finish, turns quickly into something difficult to drink. Frothy texture but medium to light body. BDR (2534) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - OCT 7, 2008
This one was interesting. GTMW ’08. Brown color with no head. Mostly brown sugar on the aroma with sour cherries but all aroma’s were a bit light. the body was a bit watery with similar flavors. No as sour as I’d hoped. vyvvy (6517) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - AUG 23, 2008
Pours brown / orange with a tan head. Ther aroma is sour with notes of cherry, oak and acidity. Medium body that is fairly slick with soft carbonation. The taste adds some nuttiness and more maltiness than expected for the style. A good sour ale for an American brewer.
