I likes what I likes, and to me jasmine and beer are a match made in heaven. Ginger pulls it all together. Delicious.

9/05/2009: Grumpy Troll Ginger and Jasmine... Aroma: Weak candied ginger. Appearance: Golden color; hazy/cloudy; slightly darker in color than the Slow Eddie; white ring of foam around the top edge. Flavor: Ginger, lemon grass; delicately sweet and floral. Palate: Medium-light body; lively carbonation. Overall: Okay, but not great; a sample is more than enough!

Draught (ABV 4.5% / 15 IBUs) at The Grumpy Troll Brew Pub in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin. Rating #5 for this beer.

On draught at the brewpub in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin. Pours a hazy golden straw colored brew with a fast dissolving white head that leaves behind a thin white ring. Aroma of medicinal lemon pledge with ginger and spice. Taste is medium bodied, flavors of mostly ginger, some citrus and lemon zest. Finish has a lingering ginger and citrus aftertaste the slowly disappears. Sure was an unique exotic beer to try once.

Cloudy gold pour, small white head, no lace. Potent floral aroma, quite pleasant, jasmine is noticeable here. Flavor is defined by the eponymous spices, leading with the ginger, lively, warming, also suggestive of orange peel, moving into the jasmine, which unlike its presence in the aroma, in the flavor seems unpleasantly perfumy. Light to medium body, but very lively on the tongue, with substantial ginger warmth.

Stopped by the brewery for the first time and really enjoyed the experience. Did a little tasting. This beer was by far one of the most unique I’ve ever had. If you get a chance to try it you must.

On tap @ the brewpub. Cloudy as hell milky honey color with a small creamy white head. Aroma is as advertised--ginger and some floral jasmine with some light honey sweetness. Flavor is much the same, bitterness around a 2. Almost flat with a medium full body. Fairly refreshing for such a hot muggy day, though the carbonation could have been much livlier.
