3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Snifter on tap at the brewpub 7/3/10: Pours a transparent deep amber copper with a thin ring of off-white bubbles. Has a sweet fruity cherry nose with good oak complexity and some leathery funk. Starts with good fullness and fine carbonation with some light malty sweetness and cherry fruitiness well-balanced with some buttery oaky character and vinous tartness before a drier crisp tart finish. The buttery character is a little off-putting but otherwise this is done fairly true to style and should age well.
