Draught sample, and then pint, at the brewpub, July 26th. Very pale, slightly cloudy straw, bit of a head and, in the full pint, some chunky flecks of foam left in the glass...very fresh grassy nose, wildflowers and a bit of lemon-lime; "zesty" is the word that comes to mind here...plenty of pale, biscuity malt in the body, but the overriding character is a dry, herbal-grassy hoppiness, which carries through to a finish that is probably the most bitter and long I’ve experienced in this style. It could be a little fuller I suppose, but that’s really a small nitpick here. Extremely refreshing on a hot day, even if we spent most of that day just driving. This was the first of a half-dozen samples we had (my brother and I) and we both agreed that it was far and away the best, and the only one really worth having in a full pint. I sort of wish I’d gotten a growler, actually, and if it’s still on when I’m in the neighborhood again I just might do that. rubbishystuff (2538) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 7, 2016
At Grumpy Troll. Quite nice summer, lager, more flavored than most. Bubbly, a little crisp. Exactly on style? Maybe not, but good. Serving: Tap thegreenrooster (4402) - St.louis, Missouri, USA - JUL 27, 2014
Pour is a dark brown with a small white head. Aroma is malty and maybe something like a roasted almond. Flavor is equally nice and malty. Roasted nuts and some caramel. Not a thick or heavy beer but still very chewy. I thought this was a quite tasty malty brew. XmnwildX12 (2079) - Farmington, Minnesota, USA - JUL 7, 2012
Has some nice wheat and grain notes with a tame sweet scent. Taste is a really nice caramel/toffee with a tame bitterness, great lager.

Hazy dirty straw color with a light head cover and bits and streaks of lace. A simple brew: clean malt with some delicate floral bittering to balance at the finish. Not pretentious at all, very drinkable, especially on a hot summer afternoon on the second floor garden of Grumpy Troll.

Arrived a pretty clean, golden yellow color with a modest white head atop it. Nose was light with some mild grassy hop character. Flavor was grainy with a mild noble hops grassy note but overall a very clean tasting brew. Body was light with a great crispness to it at the finish. Overall a very nice and smooth brew for the summertime. cbfobes (2883) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - JUN 13, 2011
On tap at the brewpub, pours a clear yellow with no head, aroma is crisp with notes of hops and some fruit with a nice balance of sweet malt as well, the flavor is much of the same with a nice hop front end and some fruit touches through out, different but I enjoyed this. madvike (3264) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 12, 2011
On tap at the brewpub after a weekend of camping with the family. Notes written in crayons snatched from my daughter. Pours light amber with a small off-white head. Smells of honey, grain, herbal hops. Taste is roughly the same, and reminds me of the pungent maltiness that wafts through the air outside Capital Brewery on a hot summer day. Finishes with herbal, slightly floral hops. Had it with pizza and it was a pretty damn fine compliment. Reminds me a big of NG Yokel, but with a little more hops on the finish. Really nice.
