Thanks Derek. An imperial pale, a British hopped up style. Cloudy with off-white bubbly, and lace. A bold malt aroma, and yeast. Unfiltered, as there is black sediment there. Average mouthfeel. Big on the hops. doubelknv3 (1093) - Illinois, USA - AUG 3, 2008
Mild grapefruit and caramel aroma. Cloudy, golden-amber with lacing white head. Grapefruit, citrus, with mild balancing caramel flavours. Watery with lasting bitter finish. Flyer (118) - Hartland, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 2, 2008
Further proof that the Grumpy Troll can brew nothing less than great beers. Near-perfect pour, with a pillowy head. It’s a ruddy lemon color coming out of the bottle, but when it settles into the glass after a dense swirl of bubbles it’s more of a toffee color. Aroma is a little bready. Not as bitter as most Imperial IPAs, but still loaded with flavor, especially dense, crisp pineappley hops. There’s a backtaste that’s almost a Belgian-like funk, which only adds to the pleasure. hopdog (12816) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 21, 2008
On tap at the Grumpy Troll Brew Pub. Poured a medium and cloudy orange color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of caralem, citrus, and fruity. Tastes of citrus, caramel, melons, and fruity. Alcohol content well hidden. MartiniFiend (104) - Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 19, 2008
Growler. Pours redish brown with almost no head. Hop and fruit aroma...lots of fruit. Thick and creamy palate. Flavor starts out hops with a REAL FRUITY middle and a slightly bitter finish. This is a good and I will drink it again but for a IIPA it is alittle too fruity for me.

Bottle from iowaherkeye. Thanks dude! Aroma is of English Hops - light citrus and floral aspects followed by a decent malty backbone too. This one is interesting. Pours a muddy orange brown with a big head. It tastes like an English IPA to me, but obviously of the Imperial variety. Moderate citrus, pineapple, punchy, and floral hops are followed by caramel, toffee, cookie dough and bready malts. Finish is a little hoppy, but does have a light sour aspect that coats the teeth. Not really bitter, but definitely hoppy. Does not drink like it is 9%. esjaygee (3904) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 25, 2008
On tap at the Grumpy Troll brewpub. Hazy reddish-brown with a medium off-white head. Aroma of citrus and woodsy hops, pine, resin and grapefruit. Taste of pine, citrus balanced out by sweet malt. Medium bitter finish that’s mildly sour. Balanced and one of the better offerings at the Grumpy Troll Petrucci914 (910) - Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 17, 2008
Poured a nice copper color with a medium foamy white head and lots of sticky lacing. Aroms is pineapple, some nuttiness, and a bit of floral notes. Taste is quite bitter, a bit of pineapple, and some nutty malts. Pretty good, a bit too nutty and bitter for my IIPA tastes. But good! Juelze (1146) - Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 17, 2008
On tap at the Grumpy Troll. Poured a rich copper color with nice amounts of lacing. Aroma is light citrus, pineapple, and floral notes. Taste is intense citrus, light caramel malt, and flora notes. beerbill (3619) - Laurel, New York, USA - APR 2, 2008
Growler shared with goldtwins. Thanks Larry! Pours a cloudy amber with a very thin off-white head that was quickly chased away. Pleasant aroma of sweet malt with some orange and grapefruit detected as well. The flavor is again sweet malt with some orange and grapefruit. Moderate bitterness at the finish. Medium bodied.
