Tap. Pours dark gold with a full head that quickly settles. Aroma is a wheat, yeast and citrus blend. Flavor is wheat and corriander start with a fruity finish. Has a lot in common with a good weiss beer. Creamy to the palate. esjaygee (3902) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 22, 2008
On tap at the Grumpy Troll brewpub. Unfiltered golden brown with a thin off-white head. Aroma of orange, yeast and mild corn. Smooth and creamy body of orange, lemon and yeast leads up to a dry finish. Solid witbier. Skyview (6115) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - OCT 30, 2007
On draught at the brewpub in Mt Horeb, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-clear golden blonde brew with a fast dissolving white head that disipates clean with no head nor any white ring. Aroma of strong banana esters, multi-grain wheat, some yeast and a touch of coriander. Taste is medium bodied, semi-sweet, very light carbonation with flavors of malted wheat, yeast and more coriander. Finish is just as semi-sweet as the flavor, with aftertastes of banana esters, wheat and orange. Ughsmash (7502) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 30, 2007
On tap at Grumpy Troll. Poured lightly-cloudy pale golden with not much head at all. The aroma picked up soft and dusty wheaty notes balanced with spicy orange peel and coriander.. there was some odd herbal stuff at the end. The flavor was quite sweet overall with odd wheaty malts at the core.. spicy, but tacky coriander and orange peel surrounded the tongue.. the spices hit rather suddenly and threw off the balance. Lighter-bodied and refreshing on the palate with too much spicage at times. JPDIPSO (6298) - Wauwatosa, USA - OCT 28, 2007
Straw color with an average white head. Aromas of orange blossoms with a light dry spice backdrop. Flavors seem a touch watery. Light wheat with some coriander and orange zest flavors. This would be a brew for a hot summer day.

sitting at the brewpub now as I use the wi-fi hotspt to real time rate this beer. Im giddy as I love witbiers. This is well better than my expectation. A little sweet to taste, but not too much. As stated in my other Grumpy troll rates, better than expected. GeneralGao (3614) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - JUL 5, 2007
Draft at the brewpub. Advertised as 1.048 OG and 10 IBU’s. Poured a slightly hazy orange color. Head was thin and white with good retention and lacing. Attractive aroma of flower blossom with lots of pollen. There was also a whiff of coriander. Slightly sweet on the tongue and medium bodied. Tasted of distinct coriander and delicate orange with an ample malty backbone. Pretty good wit. Brigadier (3780) - Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA - JUN 29, 2007
On tap at brewpub
This must have recently come on tap as it was not here on my last visit. I wanted to try it before tackling the bourbon barrel stout since that would likely kill my palate with regards to a lighter beer like this. I was impressed with the results - the brewer here has done his homework on how to brew something that is pleasing yet subtle.
Aroma / Appearance - A peppery feeling merges with a base of mandarin oranges, lemon and yeast. The overall impression is that of a beer that has already had the slice of orange mixed in. The cloudy orange body is very opaque for a wit due to the thick haziness.
Flavor / Palate - The mouthfeel is very full for a wit. It washes into every corner of the mouth carrying along oranges, vanilla and a peppery spicyness. The tart finish caps a very satisfying experience which dries the throat slightly. This is deceptively easy to drink; if I weren’t paying attention it would be possible to empty a 16 ounce pint glass in under five minutes.
