Pours a cloudy straw-yellow with very little head. Aroma is a nice intense burst of clove, bubblegum, and banana. Flavor is bubblegum and banana with a very light citrus tart and some bready grains. Grassy hops show up after a while too. Thinnish, flat palate. Pretty good stuff.

11/16/2007: Grupty Troll Trailside Wheat has a yeasty aroma and is hazy golden in color wtih a white head Its flavor is comprised of wheat malt, lemon, banana, clove. It is medium-bodied and good overall.
Sample (draught) at the Grumpy Troll Brewery, Restaurant and Pizzeria in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin. Rating #28 for this beer.
Murky gold pour, small active white head, leaves a few spots of lace. Somewhat faint yeast-clove aroma. Flavor has a lot of spice, mostly clove, on the front, moves on to fruit, lemon zest, not-quite-ripe pear. Finishes with banana, wheat husk, some fruit syrup. Medium body, very zesty up front, finishes a little flat and heavy. Lots of flavor here, but it just didn’t come together for me. Scubatrip (610) - Annandale, Virginia, USA - MAR 31, 2009
On tap at the brewpub, pours cloudy, exciting aroma. Very banana/yeasty nose. Taste is similar, it almost has a banana pudding flavor. This is one of my favorite hefies. Talking to one of the brewers, he said they had recently changed the yeast to a Belgian strain, and he was quite pleased with the improvement in flavor. If you didn’t like it before April 2009, try it again.
