Pours a clear deep gold, topped by an inch or so of fluffy white foam. Limited head retention, but nice sheets and webs of lace. Sweet honeyed bread, yeast, and a hint of spice in the aroma.
The flavor is intially on the sweet side, with honey, table sugar, grain, caramel, and a bit of spice. Then some hops kick in for balance - a little more hops than I expect a tripel to have but very tasty nevertheless. These hops have an orange-citrus hop bitterness to them. The beer finishes a bit drier, and there is an orange peel / citrus hop aftertaste.
Medium bodied, smoothly and gently carbonated, this is a tasty beer. The hopping is an interesting take on the style. JPDIPSO (6223) - Wauwatosa, USA - AUG 29, 2005
Dark golden color with a thick lid of ecru bubbles. Dry floral and mild malt aromas. Dry malt with a lightly papery flavor. Very dry in flavors. I can feel the alcohol, but I really don’t taste it. I don’t taste much in this one. More a simple belgian strong blonde.
