This is by far the best of the kind. Using myrtle in ale brewing has not been successfully done by any I have tasted previously. But this is the perfect "gale ale", the aroma and nose takes me right back to the spicy smell from sweetgale/bog myrtle on a hot summers day on the Norwegian coast (where it grows on islets and beaches as well as inland bogs). No wonder the French has named the plant the royal spice (piment royal). However, you should know that this is a class of its own and the brew can’t be compared with pale ales where only hop is used. This is a quite light bodied, fresh ale with a distinct, spicy aroma and bitterness specific to myrtle. Probably a difficult match with most "pub grub", try it with summery chicken dishes, pasta etc. gyllenbock (9977) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - SEP 8, 2016

A bit hazy golden/orange with a white head. Fresh with hops, grass, spices and light grain. Kind of relaxed and with a low bitterness.
@ Bergen ölfestival 16-9-3: en ok och lätt pale ale med blommig ton av pors. Kryddig eftersmak.

On tap @ Bergen Ølfestival 2014. Looks nice with a slightly cloudy orange colored body under a small sidesticking lacing white head. Smells really nice and fresh. Heater and honey with grass, moss and sweet peach. Smells quite nice actually. It kinda tastes nice also. I like the minty pors touch this one has. A little like toothpaste in the finish. Feels light oily on the mouth and it’s just above average on the bubbles. Heater honey and a little bit of diacetyl finishes this one off. A really nice experiment. 05.09.2014 daniele (9778) - ITALY - NOV 27, 2015

Bevuta a Roma alla spina. Il colore è giallo intenso. Profumi di frutta tropicale e lime. Il sapore maltato e erbaceo. Senti l’eucalipto. Ha una beva meravigliosa. Ho continuato a berne, decisamente particolare. buona buona. Rune (13638) - Tromsø, NORWAY - SEP 10, 2015

Pours slightly hazy golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, bog myrtle, caramel, floral and herbal. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a long caramel, bog myrtle and floral finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Sampled from tap @ Kristiansand ølfestival 2015. Almost clear, deep golden body with a moderate sized off-white head. Interesting aroma with malt and citrus fruit in a perfect harmony with forest and eucalyptus. Flavor is medium sweet, soft malt, hint of caramel, citric fruit and an interesting and balanced touch of forest and eucalyptus, moderate bitterness. Fine balanced body and pleasant aftertaste with the same flavor as the main flavors. Nothing extreme at all, just a positive surprise of something slightly unusually that works well together with the rest of the beer. aleksander9 (1910) - Oslo, NORWAY - AUG 23, 2015
Hazy golden with white head. Ginger, stinging nettle and dank herbal aroma. Sweet, spicy, herbal and malt finish. Overall: nice.
