"Gruut" is an ancient Flemish coin. In medieval Ghent, brewers used Gruuts to pay taxes on the richness of their brew. Gentse Stadsbrouwerij has revived this tradition with Gruut Wit Beer. Enjoy it’s natural cloudiness, golden color, and refreshing finish.

LazyPyro (1209) - Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - NOV 21, 2015
33cl bottle. Pours a hazy straw yellow colour with a small but long lasting creamy white head. Aroma is a little weak, just some citrus and wheat. Flavour is a bit bland, citrus and wheat again, couldn’t detect any spices one would expect. Not unpleasant but disappointing for a witbier.

ClubGonzo (5670) - Bergen, NORWAY - NOV 1, 2015
Bottle. Pours a smoke-hazed straw yellow body with a large rocky white head. Nose is citrus peel, wheat, straw, baker’s yeast and hints of pale malts, minerals and wet grass. Taste is wet grass, wheat, citrus, straw and hints of floral honey notes, pale malts and baker’s yeast. Light body, high carbonation. Nice and floral-oriented wit with lots of freshness.

Wixie (589) - BELGIUM - OCT 27, 2015
Pale yellow liquid, average head. Aroma of pils. Light body, strong carbonation. Taste is weak, like pils, but with hints of herbs.

rumproasts (5359) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - OCT 3, 2015
bottle. Hazy pale golden with one finger head. Extremely underwhelming witbier. Some bland wheat and that’s about it. No citrus at all, and almost no wit spicing. Expected far more from a Belgian wit.
