Good scotch ale. Aromas and flavors of oak, burnt sugar and malt. Smooth body and dark caramel color. Andrew196 (2050) - Katy, Texas, USA - JUN 29, 2017
From the source - Pours a dark brown, ivory head. Plenty of bourbon booziness yet smooth. Honey. Woodiness. Earthy ash, peat, traces of spearmint. Very good! Arayaga2 (2224) - portland, Oregon, USA - MAR 16, 2016
Muddy brown with an enduring tan head. Aroma is faintly sweet with a worty toffee aroma. Taste is the same, with a relatively light touch on the oak.

Very smooth and tasty scotch ale. Pairs well with most meats. A solid beer for that isn't overpriced.

UPDATED: MAR 30, 2016 Bottle from a wine bar in Gruene. Thick hazy brown and caramel colored with a light beige head. Aroma of caramel, toast, and wood ash. Taste is ashy and sweet. Medium full bodied.

Wonderful sweet, oaky goodness both to the nose and palate. The aroma is toffee, bubblegum, caramelized sugar, subtle oaky vanilla, and dates. The mouthfeel is a bit firm, with a medium-to-thick body and subtle carbonation. The taste is sweet, with some malty, woody bitterness and a beautiful alcohol prickle. Very nice. ibrubeer (432) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - MAY 5, 2015
Draft @ Craft Pride (AUS). Light oak aroma. Dark, opaque brown color with a white head that disappears except for the edge. Very malty flavor with a very nicely balanced light oak flavor! Full bodied. I really like this scotch ale! 721Lance (82) - Oceanside Ca, California, USA - MAY 3, 2015

Poured from a bomber at 60 degrees. Pours dark red, light head. Smells of raisins, and booze. The raisins continue on the flavor profile with caramel. Very smooth. Sits nicely on the palate. Pretty good beer. gregwilsonstl (2732) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - SEP 7, 2014
Reddish brown. Tastes like sweet caramel. Bready. Delightful. Woody (oak). Lasting head.
