Wow... this is soft. It’s very much a rye ale, and more of a rye ale than an IPA up front. Silky, thick, and almost creamy with a signature rye mushiness. It’s rye-ish with a slight IPA twist. It’s nice, but I was hoping for more hops. Fratto (2845) - Arlington, Texas, USA - APR 29, 2013
Big Texas Beer Fest. Orange pour with a white head. Aroma is spice, lemon lime, and grain. Taste is bitter, bread spice, light citrus, and bread. BMan1113VR (7931) - Los Angeles, California, USA - DEC 13, 2012
Tap. Pours with a clear bronze body with an off-white head. Aromas are sweet, malty, tea, light spicy and grassy hop character. Flavors are way sweet. Too sweet for my taste in IPAs. Sweet tea, caramel, lightly spicy and grassy. Fuller bodied. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - SEP 12, 2012

Draught. Nose is sweet and malty, light citrus hops. Bright, clear copper with a thin head. Slightly undercarbonated. Full-flavored with a rye spiciness and very subdued hops. Sweet finish. Dogbrick (12936) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - AUG 10, 2012
Sample at the Draught House brewpub. Pours a clear dark amber color with a medium off-white head that dissipates quickly to a film. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Short strings of lacing. Herbal hops, citrus and malt in the nose. Medium body with flavors of grassy hops, spicy rye and citrus. The finish is moderately bitter with a lightly spiced hops aftertaste. Decent overall. On tap at the Draught House.
The beer pours an amber color with a white head. The aroma is fairly straightforward and features some rye and pine notes, with not too much else coming through. The flavor is similar. I get some sweetness from the biscuit malt, as well as some spiciness from the rye and some resin and fruit notes from the hops. Low bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. kidmartinek (4999) - austin, Texas, USA - JUL 19, 2012
Clear copper. Almost no head. Sweet hoppy smell that’s a little bitter. Body is almost flat. Taste is decently malty and bitter but the beer lacks bite and carbonation. What happened here? Dixonian (1562) - Plano, Texas, USA - JUL 18, 2012
On tap @ Taste of Dallas.
Deep amber brew with some off-white head. Lots of spicy rye aroma with resin and pine. Flavors are muted but mostly rye and citrus.
