Hazy dye brown color with minimal sand brown color foam. Aromas of sweet rye bread, grains and a light touch of honey. Palate, light body with watery texture leaving sweet sugary finish. Taste, sweet of sugary syrup a touch of rye. Overall, okay, not bad, refreshing and simple not the best, not the worst.

Very bready kvass, reminds of pumpernickel and dark rye bread. Quite simple and not complex but tasty. Sweet but not too sweet.

500 ml can bought at Food Shop’s booth at HKCEC in Wan Chai during The 14th Hong Kong Food Festival.

Translucent amber brown colour; Half finger head with residual soapy off-white foam which fades in 15 seconds; Goof sticky lacing with notable slight carbonation; Aroma of strong rye bread which can be smelt a foot away, with strong raisins, plums, light mustiness and sugar; Mid to strong sweet taste of Cola, with strong raisins, plums, honey, sugar strong rye bread and light bitterness; Light body. Thin but slightly slick palate; Mouth feel is strong rye bread in a thin, very Cola-ish background. Lots of raisins and plums. Non-cloying mid to strong honey-like sweetness with notable light bitterness. Okay... Wet after taste. Sweet, dark fruity and very easy to mouth.

Comments: This one’s body is a bit light, with strong rye bread and dark fruity nose and taste being its strongest suits. Sweetness is not overboard, but overall it’s kinda one-dimensional. Drinkable raisin Cola.

50cl can recieved as a gift. Poured initially clear caramel brown, but ended up muddy brown, but still a fairly decent, but short lived, beige head. Malty and bready aroma with a fair amount of caramel and notes of dried fruits. Less sweet than expected, quite tasty and it goes down rather easy. Nice one.

Zuckerwasser schlimmster Art. Immer wieder versuchen wir es und immer kommt die Enttäuschung. Nun ja, eine gewisse Brotigkeit ist nicht von der Hand zu weisen, aber sonst ? Bah.

750ml bottle (Iki, Panevyzis)
Rich brown, muddy and murky. Semi-sweet, rich rye bread component. Sweeter as it warms, otherwise less sweet than the big-brewer giras. Butter very low. Raisins only come in later. Decent gira, but not as good as a really good one (I am a fanboi of the style though).

750ml plastic bottle. Muddy brown color. Tiny to no head. Plastic, bready, sweet notes in aroma. Massive sweetness, bread and bit of raisins in taste. Sweet and sticky body. It’s way too sweet for me.

From a large plastic bottle. Bubbles at the surface of an unclear apricot coloured body. Smell is bread and sweet apricot. Taste of sweet dried fruits. Mid-sweet ending. Soft drink, some refreshment when served chilled (kindly shared by djoeye, Tromsř 07.05.2014).

UPDATED: AUG 10, 2014 Hazy amber/apricot body. Smokey apricot to the nose. Taste is sweet fruity, somewhat smoked apricot compote. Not much bread. Normal smooth feel, ok carbonation. Sweet fruity finish. Easy going drink. ([email protected] Marijampole Lithuania, [email protected]@Rune)
