Bottle from Cervezorama 2.0, Madrid, bottled 25Feb2013, bb 25Feb2014
Cloudy dark amber color with medium sized creamy head. Feety yeast aroma, resiny hops. Highly carbonated, with round mouthfeel; some caramel flavor, moderate sweetness, strong bitterness, plenty of hop resins, but with a strong dirty yeast character; very light oak traces. No qualities of fresh hops, and mediocre malt result.

In short: A rich caramelized and resinous-hoppy barley-wine-ish beer with a few off-flavors. Decent.
How: Bottle 330ml consumed (probably fresh) a week after I got the bottle from Teddybeer, thanks a lot José.
The look: Cloudy light-brown body topped by a persistent medium beige head.
In long: The strong nose is rich caramel and resinous hops. Body is very full and with an overly active carbonation. Taste is simple but effective. Big creamy caramelized malts, plenty of resinous hops, a certain acidity because of the excessive carbonation, virgin oak, cardboard-like oxidation. The barrels thing is really not overdone, to the contrary, the wood is well integrated and remain a secondary flavor in the overall flavor spectrum. The base IIPA is gone, killed by the wood aging, what we now have is a hoppy barley wine, a simple hoppy barley wine that would have been pretty good with a softer carbonation and no oxidation. And speaking of Guinea Pigs, I sometimes feel like a guinea pig when I drink an experimental beer like this one, and also when I don’t drink an experimental beer, what I’m trying to say here is that I’m very ugly.
