lello4ever (990) - ITALY - FEB 13, 2015
Da un produttore artigianale della zona di Barcellona, si presenta marrone con una schiuma sottile e abbastanza cremosa. E’ una dunkel composta, di cui risaltano i sapori di terra, malto tostato e cioccolato. Piuttosto frizzante, molto beverina e leggera. Finale appena amaro. Non male.

Bought in Wine Palace store, Lloret de Mar, Spain. Bitter taste with maltu and caramel nutes. Hoppy and caramel palate with long, bitter finish. Gray-like head, medium thickness, stays for long on top. Dark honey colour, hazy.

07/12 0.33 l bottle from L’Espumossa, Barcelona. The bottle made all the way around Spain to be enjoyed in the city where it was bought, on the last evening of our trip. It poured hazy brown reddish body with smaller head. Strong and nice caramel, chicory and chocolate aroma. Flavor was less sweet than expected, rather bitter with coffee and touch of raisins. Surprisingly simple and thin in body. Decent, but short, lightly bitter coffee and cocoa finish. Not bad anyway, but hoped for more after its aroma.

Palme (4811) - Bergen, NORWAY - SEP 10, 2012
0.33l bottle. This is a dark cola-brown one with a medium sized lasting beige head. It smells of chocolate, dark malts, thin cold coffee and it also has a hint of leather. Not bad, and the chocolate is dominating. It has a soft oily mouthfeel and it’s average to soft carbonated. In taste it’s much the same. It’s a bit sweet, lots of chocolate and licorice, dark sweet malts and it feels quite harmonic and balanced. Liked this one! 09.08.2012

My Bottom Line :
Xérès, chestnuts and cherry-like Munich malts meet before delving into a dryish, bitter finish for yet another compelling Guineu brew.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A ring of foam surrounds the cloudy dark brown.
-The first half of each sip is somewhat empty compared to the second half.
-There might have been too much yeast in the bottle...
-If they were going for an autumn-y flavor profile, they pretty much nailed it.
-Light oxydation made this brew very aromatic. This bottle-conditioned lager was only within days of its BB date...

Bottle.
