mjs (7735) - Helsinki, FINLAND - DEC 12, 2017
(Keg at Sori Taproom, 20171212) The beer poured black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had sweetness, soy sauce and alcohol. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were cough mixture, burnt malts, sweetness, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. A sweet and messy brew with medicine-like notes.

Draught @ sori Taproom.
Poured pitch black with a thin brown head.
Molasses, roasted malt, syrup, soy sauce and licorice.
Flavor has molasses, syrup, soy sauce, hops. Dryer finish but still overly sweet.

Tap at Sori Taproom, Helsinki. Color is almost black with very small brownish head. Aromas and flavors: Grass, coffee, some citric elements, some chocolate and roasted malts. Pretty hoppy imperial stout. Some greasy elements.

3Nov2017 Intense dark chocolate, cacao, dark roast coffee, earthy, charcoal, burnt toast. Hazy, very dark brown, tiny, creamy, beige head. Medium bitter. More dark roast malts, black coffee, cacao, dark chocolate, dark chocolate log, burnt toast, charred wood, soft carbonation, full bodied. Good Impy, maybe a touch harsh and punchy. Bottle from La Botica de la Cerveza, Malaga.

Bottle, [email protected], Kolding. Pours deep opaque black with a large, staying creamy brown head. Aroma has lovely cocoa, chocolate, light coffee, grassy and citrussy hops. Medium to low carbonation, fine dry and quite creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has again some solid cocoa, drying out nicely, chocolate, light vanilla. Very nice.

Gurthnar (6245) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - SEP 8, 2017
Forgotten bottle from Local Swap or Secret Santa. Thanks! Seemingly quite high attenuation initially, with med-thin body, but is eventually filled in by intense complex flavours. Light sourness is coming off the roasted malts, also showing mostly initially. The bulk of the impression consists of intensely roasted malts, burnt, coffee, but also dried fruits, chocolate, caramel. Rich and intense as befits an imperial stout. Relatively easy drinking as far as RIS goes. Good one.

33cl bottle bought recently at Be Hoppy, Madrid and poured into a snifter on 12-Feb-2017. ABV 9.0%. Almost black in colour with a large thick beige colour head which lasts. Aroma of roasted malt, cocao nibs, coffee beans and pine. Full body and medium carbonation. Taste of dark chocolate, caramel, malt, liquorice, coffee and floral hops. Light sweetness with a bittersweet hoppy finish. Really enjoyable.

UPDATED: APR 4, 2017 Botella 33 cl en el señor lupulo Gijón 28..01..2017. (r56).
