Opaque black with a good head and lace. Roasted malt and a light bittering are the whole story here. Easy to drink because there is so little going on. Not bad at all, just not very much to it.

12 oz. bottle served in shaker- poured a near black with a sharp maroon tint when held to a light source, mildly creamy darkened tan head and gently whisped away. Hearty aroma of roasted barley with a mild note of hops. Hits the mouth with a firm medium body, roastedness of the malt is not subtle at all- but I like it that way, holds up well in the middle, finish has a bittering feeling that wants to linger, but goes away much faster than I would like. I call this one deadly- damn near had the whole six pack in less that 15 minutes last night. It wasn’t until running back to the fridge that I saw I had 1 bottle left. Very solid sessioner.

12 oz. bottle purchased at QFC in Mukilteo/Harbour Pointe, WA. Pours a VERY dark brown with a minimal tan colored head. Aroma: Roasted malt. Flavor: Same as the aroma, with a hint of coffee. Light bodied and delicious.

Pours a very dark brown, not totally black, with a nice tan head. Aroma is mildly roasty. And flavor is mildly roasty. Shockingly little going on here. Sent a search party out for flavor and couldn’t find hardly anything even after I boldly ignored the bottle instructions and allowed it to warm up - in a glass. At least nothing offensive here. I kinda liked this one looking forward to the next one.

Black with tall foamy tan head. Grassy, corn aroma. Taste - roasted malt and grassy hops. Notes of coffee and toast. Medium body. Easy drinking, but overall rather boring. Just ok for me.

Black in color, clear with a thin white head. Good dark malt and lager aroma. I found this a very easy drinking nice dark beer. This is a great beer for when you want some flavor but not the heaviness. i liked the flavor.

Bottle and served in Guinness pint glass: Pours a deep brown with reddish highlights topped by a fizzy head and spotty lace. The aroma has notes of ashy, roasted, and bready malts, some dark fruit and a hint of soapy yeast. The taste is utterly ordinary, simple sugars, sweet malt, heavy wet grains and a touch of herbal Continental hops. The mouth feel is watery and fades into a distance far too quickly. Even for a session Schwarzbier this lacks any real German character. Honest it was what I expected... sadly. (The McSorleys Irish Black Lager is world class compared to this)

The best way to describe this beer is mix 50% Guinness with 50% Michelob Ultra... It has a very good taste, then after you swallow , the taste disappears like Ultra does? So? Less filling / Tastes great while in mouth?
