What a waste of ingredients. Dark beer with a nice foamy head. That’s the only positive, looks. It has a slightly nutty flavour with hints of coffee. However, it tastes awful. It’s nothing short of a horror. Something that should never have been created.

Taken from notes. Dark brown w/ thick foamy head. Very smooth with a nutty flavor and hints of coffee. Less bitter than the stout and overall a very sessionable beer.

UPDATED: SEP 3, 2014 Virtually flavorless beer save some lightly sweet, fruity notes and a little bit of toast. Spritzy, watery and low on everything.

Rich, earthy brown pour. Trademark tan foamy Guinness head. Love the light toastiness of this! Very eady drinking.

Black as the name implies. Roasty aroma, a little coffee. Flavor, same with a little chocolate. Good drinkability, okay.

Clearish but black colour and a white head. Muted aroma, some roast, some barley and a hint of something sweet. Medium bodied palate, watery mid and a slightly sweet and roasted barley flavour. regrettable purchase. I only bought this one because of a world cup matchup. Italia!!!!

Pours a nice black color with off-white head. Roasted malt and just a bit of coffee on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with more roasted malt notes.

Transfer from BA review on 4-7-12 - Poured from bottle into pint glass Appearance- Pours a nice dark brown nearly black color with a lighter tan head. The head faded quite fast giving way to a very light lacing. Smell – The smell is largely of lighter roasted malts and is of light coffee and chocolate notes. Taste – The taste is of roasted malts and is of light coffee and chocolate notes. These start out a little more on the sweeter side and bitter more as the taste advances. But the flavor is overall very consistent throughout. Mouthfeel – The mouthfeel is a bit on the lighter side with a medium level of carbonation. The carbonation is quite appropriate and complements the beer quite well, but the mouthfeel leaves something to be desired as it could use some more thickness. Overall - Nothing too spectacular, but not bad. I prefer the original stout, as the lager is a bit more one-dimensional in my opinion.
