Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, caramel notes and hops. Oakes (19349) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 25, 2010
Bottle, KL. Dark chestnut colour. Thin head. The aroma is thin, chocolatey-cookiesh (think Oreo with less sugar) with vague nuances of earthiness/mushrooms. Light body. Not of a lot of character. It’s clean, with some rather vague roasty/chocolatey notes. Thin finish. Drinks very easy. Fairly inoffensive beer that stylistically probably slots in as a very light schwarzbier. chrisv10 (18702) - DENMARK - AUG 3, 2013

Bottle. Pours black with off white head. Nose and taste of roasted black and chocolate malts, light pine and some barley and cereal grains. Medium body. brokensail (16689) - Dublin, California, USA - JUL 16, 2012
Pour is cola in color with a thick off-white head. Nose is bland, but a bit roasty. A little bit sour, maybe? Really watery...it’s hard to really smell anything. The flavor is just as bad. It’s almost like drinking black water. Just a hint of roasted malt, a tinge of sourness, perhaps a light earthiness, but I’m really stretching for that one. Not sure what the appeal is here. djd07 (16289) - Houston, Texas, USA - SEP 29, 2011
Bottle as shown. Pours a very dark brown with a medium frothy beige head leaving spotty lacing along the glass. The aroma is a bready malt and licorice. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet malt and chocolate with a light bitter finish. A good schwarzbier from Guinness. bhensonb (15963) - Woodland, California, USA - OCT 21, 2011
Pours black with a slight creamy tan head. Odor is light citrus followed by very dark malt. Med minus body. Flavor is thin dark malt. It is bitter. However, this is not a substantial beer. But it is rather flavorful.
