Pours black with a small beige head that leaves a little lacing. Nice Roasted malt aroma. Initial drink has some black malt bitterness. Thin Body with a dry finish. Not a big fan of black Lagers but this one is above average.

Momma says always stress the positive, so Iíll say that Black Lager looks good. After that, well, (sorry mom) the roasted grain aroma is sharp and unpleasant, the beer is thin, and the finish leaves an unpleasant bitterness.

Poured a good head that quickly died off. Dark brown in colour. Tastes of toasted malt and caramel. Very sweet. Mouth feel is thin. Like most Guinness beers, itís become a pale imitation of a real dark Lager. Kind of boring.

Black w/little brown @ bottom. 2-3 finger head fades. Leaves little laceing. Smells like Guinness & a BAD lager. Taste:Barley flakes, roastedness, sour(ish), chocolate, & lager taste. It was good but be even better if it had a stout taste over the lager taste but the bottle I had, had a date that passed when I had it but didnít say if it was best b4 or not. The lager part I found the worst part.

I did not care one bit for this brew. Something sort of "off"/bitter in the aftertaste that was just a downer. Aromas were weak as well as the flavors. Very thin and watery in texture. Only upside was the excellent lacing on the glass (but who wants to pay for that?!).

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
11.2 fl oz bottle poured into a dimpled mug. Deep brown amber with a tiny tan head. Aroma is roasted malt and coffee. Flavor is odd. It has the distinctive Guinness roastiness with the typical wateriness of a pale lager. Mouthfeel is a bit thin with a generous amount of carbonation. Finish is bitter roast at first and fades to a biscuity lager yeast. It is pretty much exactly what one would expect of a lager from Guinness. This isnít bad but I donít think Iíll buy it again. If I want a Guinness, Iíll buy a Guinness.

A bit watery, and not enough roasted malts for my tastes . A "Schwarzbier-lite" if you ask me. But I should have expected that after seeing the words "COLD BREWED" in huge letters on the label. An ok session beer, but nothing to write home about.

Pours black, of course. Has a nice tan head and some lacing. The head retains pretty well...Aroma, the main thing I notice is coffee. Thereís some roasted malt in there. But itís more like drinking bottom of the pot coffee....Taste, still coffee, maybe some cocoa. The roasted malt comes through a little more in taste than in nose....Mouthfeel, yeah, itís pretty smooth, itís well balanced. Semi dry. Itís pretty heavy....Overall, itís not bad. It reminds me of a regular Guinesss, I guess you could call it a Guinness Light. Itís not what I would call sessionable.

I MUST have a bad bottle. This stuff canít be that bad. Strong aroma of septic. Taste of boiled leaves and fermented grass. borderline drain-pour. Why would Guinness make something this bad?
