COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nitro-can, nitro-keg and nitro-bottle; Filtered
Usually called Draught; sometimes called Cold or Extra Cold - same beer, but served colder. Abv ranges from 4.1 to 4.3 % depending on where it was brewed (Guinness exports a hopped and concentrated wort to regional breweries who then brew it on site).
Launched in 1961.
Ingredients: Pale ale malt, about 25 to 30% flaked barley, and about 10% roasted barley, with no other grains or sugars; several hop varieties, mainly Goldings (pellets and isomerized extract); a flocculent head-forming ale yeast.

Draught can version. Pours a dark brown that gives a deep red amber when held up to the light. Thick, pillowy head that is light tan in color and remains throughout. Aroma is rather restrained, but roasted malts are most discernible. Taste is of malts and some hops in background. Lightly bitter taste, with some slight sourness. A faint flavor of coffee is discernible. Palate is velvety smooth, like drinking cream. Overall, this classic is a fine, but not remarkable, stout. This particular version is more notable for the appearance and palate (both due to the nitro can) than for its aroma or taste. Try to appreciate the former, but look to other versions of Guinness for the latter.

Love it, my go to stout. Measure all other stouts against it. Not for everyone as it has strong taste. But served slightly warmer then just out of fridge is best, ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

0,5l nitro can. Nose: slightly metallic, burnt coffee, slight citrus. Taste: coffee, roasted malts, grassy hop notes, slight taste of boiled broccoli. A bit watery.

From bottle into shaker pint. Pours a near black color with a finger of tan creamy head. Smells like an iced coffee. Taste follows nose with a cold watery cappuccino flavor. Smooth creamy mouthfeel but not as good as draft or the widget can for that matter. I would not turn one down, especially on St Patrickís Day. A definite classic but not my go to stout by any means.

Can. After realizing that Iíve never rated this old acquaintance, I decided to rectify this mistake immediately. Of course it pours opaque dark brown with creamy beige head thanks to its ingenious ball-in-the-can contraption. very faint vanilla-roasted malt aroma, low carbonation, lightly bitter roasted malt taste, smooth body, medium finish. Extremely smooth as everyone knows.

Prawie jak doktorzy - piwo samo wylatuje z puszki. W zapachu i smaku woda z lekko dotknięta kawą. Jedyny plus to fenomenalna piana dzięki kulce.
