Usually called Draught; sometimes called Cold or Extra Cold - same beer, but served colder. Abv ranges from 4.1 to 4.3 % depending on where it was brewed (Guinness exports a hopped and concentrated wort to regional breweries who then brew it on site).
Launched in 1961.
Ingredients: Pale ale malt, about 25 to 30% flaked barley, and about 10% roasted barley, with no other grains or sugars; several hop varieties, mainly Goldings (pellets and isomerized extract); a flocculent head-forming ale yeast.

Velkyal's rating

   AROMA 5/10   APPEARANCE 5/5   TASTE 5/10   PALATE 2/5   OVERALL 9/20

Guess what? It poured this deep dark, with crimson edges and a half inch of tan head - it looked like a stout for crying out loud! The aroma was mostly coffee, tobacco and even some coal, but in there was this trace of something artificial, plastic, industrial you could say. Taste wise, smoky tobacco to the fore, with coffee roastedness giving it some ommph and some burnt sugar into the mix. Thin bodied and nowhere near the pedigree of the real thing served in Ireland, ultimately rather disappointing.

Always my favorite dark beer! Not as good as in Dublin though. Very filling

UPDATED: AUG 17, 2017 Guinness is an unusual beer. In the U.K. It was the only beer that the head constitutes part of an imperial pint. The keg it comes in has a two position tap. One mixes the gas and the beer and on it’s second position it allows only beer ( the top up ). When poured correctly and in sufficient volume, it is unbeatable. If not a bitter disappointment is ready for you.

Keg @The Pleasence Courtyard, Edinburgh, Edinburgh Festival 2017. Pours black, thick cream head. Nose is toffee, burnt sugar, chocolate. More of the same with the taste, big roasted malts.

Ocena w ramach uzupełnienia profilu. Kolor smoliście czarny, słabe nasycenie. Piana delikatna, szybko opada, kremowa. W aromacie końska derka, stajnia. W smaku palone słody.

Puszka.

UPDATED: AUG 15, 2017 Tijdje gedronken in Noord-Ierland. Best goed te doen. Mooi donker bier, koolzuur gehalte had hoger gemogen.

Black pour, long lasting lively foam. Very dry stout I’m just not a fan of the flat taste that it has. Creamy taste as well
