Based on Guinness recipes from the early 1800s. This was a time when porter was the working man’s beer and after a long day’s work in Dublin or London, Guinness would have been a respected choice.

Achetée à Carrefour. Bière très foncée au nee léger de malt et de café. Très carbonatée. Goût un peu fade.

Bottle from BevMo. Very watery up front. A little bit of roastiness. Some burnt malt and a hint of coffee. Fairly bitter. Not terrible, but pretty boring.

Nearly black, creamy beige head. Aroma has light roast, caramel and light choc. Roasted, caramely flavour. Ok flavourful but somewhat light and slightly watery.

Bottle. Pours nearly clear very dark brown with stable, creamy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt and fruit, with notes of yeast and roasty touches. Bitter, roasty flavour with notes of coffee, malt and yeast. Touches of hops and mild hints of dust. Estery and mildly acidic aftertaste with roasty touches. Tame but decent.

weihenweizen (3735) - Charleston Area, West Virginia, USA - JUN 15, 2017
Refrigerated 11.2 oz. brown bottle from shrubber85 poured into a glass. Black with dark brown highlights and small beige head. Aroma is light dark malt, medium/light body, medium/light carbonation, and good small-bubble lacing. Taste is subtle dark malt and a little chocolate.

ganache (5848) - New Jersey, USA - JUN 14, 2017
Bottle. Nose a tad skunked, pour lightish brown with a large, foamy tan head. Taste lightly tart/acrid, medium-sweet but with a thin and watery body, good and prominent smooth roast. Touch caramel, low but perceptible bitterness. Its redemption comes in its great drinkability (chuggability, really), but it’s also clean and slight and fits a lot of circumstances well, better than the score might indicate. I’d gladly have more, even if the other near variants are better. [2017.06.14: 2.4]

HuskerTan (2168) - Ravenna, Nebraska, USA - JUN 3, 2017
Bottle. A- Burnt wood, slightly dank. A- Dark liquid, dark color, tan head. T- Charred wood, red wine, weed, cocoa. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Hard to believe this is only 3.8% Definitely the lightest stout or porter I’ve had but doesn’t taste like it. Doesn’t feel thin bodied either. A unique flavor. Like wood chips mixed with weed and red wine. Odd but tasty enough.

BREWMUSKCLES (2671) - New Jersey, USA - JUN 1, 2017
it is a respectable porter. it is thinner in body with extra marks given for an abv of 3.8 that does not reveal itself in any way. that is called master brewing. just a pleasant porter highly drinkable with malt cocoa and no harshness or clue in any way this beer is light in the pants. even a light alcohol detected. demonstrative.

Black with a quickly dissipating, loose brown head. Aroma is malty with some toasty notes. Milk chocolate is quite the distinct flavor here - sweet. Thin and a bit watery. Almost reminds me of a San Miguel Dark. Tasty, drinkable but not particularly interesting.

Franzen (587) - SWEDEN - MAY 25, 2017
Dark syrup, raisins a bit metallic and some rybread. Chocolaty malty taste with a small rounding bitterness. A nice light porter with a lower abv.
