COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Labatts brew a pale ale base to which is added the unfermented but hopped Guinness wort extract. Guinness Extra Stout is brewed in Canada by Labatt under license from Arthur Guinness Son & Company. Editors Note: It looks like Moosehead is also brewing Guinness. Bottles in the US are from there of late, but Canadian bottles are still showing Labatt. 04/23/06

The new Guinness Draught Bottle is a vast improvement on this one.

UPDATED: OCT 27, 2003 Not as good as guinness stout. Needs nitro. Higher ABV and some more depth of flavor would be nice.

Guinness is a nice standard stout, but it definitely lacks the complexity and flavor of some microbrew stouts out there.

I still dont understand the fixation with this. The draught is tasteless, and this only adds a few extra dashes of roasted nastiness. I thought the bitter was unpleasant and that yeasty, malty, roasted whatever-it-is just sat at the back of my mouth jabbing my tonsils with some implement of bad taste. I do appreciate the fact that the extra stout tried to actually have some flavor (unlike its watery brethren) but it was, sad to say, unsuccessful.

is not the same since they started brewing it in cananda, but still solid. from the pub is the best way to enjoy this brand though

I find this a lot more enjoyable than regular Guinness in any shape or form. Bitterness is the only difference I really see here besides more apparent carbonation than draught/tap versions.

UPDATED: MAR 12, 2013 Thin and bitter. Loses some creaminess when not on draft. Still black as night, but no cool cascade effect on the pour. Holds a small tan ring of head and leaves some lacing. Slight more bitter than the draft version, especially in the aftertaste. Some tang and plenty of roast.

Black as night and tastes like half beer and half coffee. Will wake up the ol tastebuds.

Very black in color with rather large long lasting head. Aroma of black cherry and malt. Taste of old coffee. Tangy on the finish with a rather unpleasant aftertaste. Seems pretty unrefined.
