Opaque, foamy. Full body, flavorful, nice heat and carbonation, lingering aftertaste.
Bitter, not so dry, crisp, great balance.
Roast barley flavor, smoky.
Best Guinness to my taste.

Bottle from B&M, Team Valley, Gateshead. Inky black with a thick tan head of foam. It has a sweet, rich liquorice, chocolate and plum flavour with brine notes and a warming, chocolate, roasted, leather and oak finish. Very Good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours black with a full, foamy, thick tan head. The aroma consists of toasted malt, hazelnut, toffee, and hints of chocolate and espresso. Heavy bitterness in the taste. Here I find an interesting blend of toffee, licorice, toasted malts, and chocolate, which Iíd say is are evenly balanced. I do get a some slight floral elements as well. The aftertaste is a long and lingering slightly toasted toffee. Its light to medium in body, with an oily texture, and some fizzy softer carbonation. An stout that is different than most others, I wish I had tried this one sooner.

3.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nose: weak coffee and malt
Taste: medium full bodied, roasted malt, dark cholocate and coffee, average carbonation, simple bitter sweet beer!
Aftertaste: medium long
Itís good but it must be serve from a cask! IMO, a bottled or canned Guinness rating will be lower.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Dark, stouty brownish-black pour with a medium tan head, above average retention. Nose is dried fruit, roast, caramelly malt, cocoa. Mouth is medium-full, creamy on the palate, roasty bittersweet, some soot, coffee, toasted nuts. Reminds me a lot the first Guinness I had back in 1988 (when it wasnít in pub draught cans yet, and was mainly available bottled under the name íExtra Stoutí)... although that was bit more bitter than this. PS: Fuck Valentineís Day. The only saint I recognize is the one whose day is 26 days from now.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Asda. Pours dense black, with a big tan head falling to a rim of froth. Nose is sweet, creamy, and also bitter burnt malt. Taste is bitter-sweet, a little creamy, well balanced. Palate is light, short, but decent. Good stuff, but get the Nigerian if you can, itís quite a bit sweeter and better for it.
