Canned. Poured medium amber with a short-lived head. The aroma picked up lots of vanilla and nutty notes, with a bit of toasted character. The flavor found similar, picking up a little molasses.. more vanilla on the finish. Lighter-bodied with moderate-plus carbonation.. OK feel. wlajwl (7013) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - NOV 30, 2012
Aroma is slightly roasted and earthy malts. The flavor is slightly sweet malts throughout and a hint of sugar. Similar to Guinness Black Lager, mild in flavor but not inoffensive. Braudog (6805) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - NOV 24, 2012
Bottle. Dark, woody red, with the thinnest of macro-style heads. The aroma is toasty and maybe a little caramel. Drinks with an upfront bite of toffee, but settles quite quickly into a fairly empty character. Unoffending in any way, this is a simple, even-keeled ale for the masses. Pours clear, wet copper-red with a full, frothy, off-white head.
Scent is malt, a little caramel.
Taste is slightly roasty caramel, a hint of vanilla.
Slightly metallic bitter..Creamy and smooth.
Truly not bad. kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 15, 2013
Bottle. Pours a clear amber brown body under a small wispy off-white head. The nose is pretty nondescript, just some light caramel sweetness and just a bit of hoppiness. The flavor is fairly bland and boring as well, sweet caramel and toasty malt with a minimal floral hop note on the finish. Medium bodied with lots of fizzy carbonation. Just comes across and. Little too bland and boring.

12oz bottle. Filtered looking amber-red-tan body, this lacy off-white head. The aroma is not so impressive, factory dry lifeless toffee. A sort of boring, mineral-dry amber- brown ale. Not really up to Guinness standards, this is sort of tame and uninspired. Medium bodied, drinkable, but all around unappealing. thedm (6307) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - DEC 25, 2012
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy off-white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a strongly carbonated transparent dark copper brown colored body and a thick foamy lacing. The aroma was brown malt and musty. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The thin flavor contained notes of brown malt and hops. An OK brew just nothing special. Dark red-amber pour with a tan head. The aroma has some strong toffee notes and not much else. The flavor is a mix of toffee, grass and some odd, hard to nail down spice notes. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. rumproasts (5592) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JUN 16, 2013
bottle. Amber with small head. Sweet with light malt, and slightly medicinal. I don’t know what else to say about this. Other than the slightly unpleasant flavor, It’s just extremely boring.

Clear mahogany brew, bone colored head, good embossed bottle, styling label. Malty aroma. Pleasant UK brown ale flavors. Tannic, lightly sweet, some light fruit, bitterness sneaks up and builds over the session. Medium body, mildly sweet finish. Thanks to PorterPounder for the trade.
