Roasty aromas, faint chocolate. Black in color with huge long lasting light brown head. Taste is malty, light notes of chocolate and coffee, faint stone fruit

11. oz. bottle poured into a snifter. Pours almost black, maybe some burgundy edges, with a one finger, bubbly beige head. Sweet molasses, dark chocolate and dark fruit aroma. Taste leans to sweetness with more molasses and chocolate covered cherries. There is an, ever so faint, sourness in the back ground. Body is to the full side. Nice!.

Almogabar (104) - MARIA DE HUERVA (ZARAGOZA), SPAIN - FEB 1, 2018

ganache (6108) - New Jersey, USA - JAN 31, 2018
These 11.2 oz bottles from their late 2017 sampler box, with a blue label and name of "Antwerpen Stout". Nose sweet and estery, not extreme and more sticky-cola, candyish, some roast barley. Pour very dark Guinness brown with similar ruby-brown peekers, head is very large and foamy tan. Taste lightly sweet, lightly but persistently and delightfully tangy, has brown sugar and a dusting of cocoa under the subtle roast, subtle coffee, smoke, chocolate, rounding toffee/butterscotch, but stronger tones of cola and (thankfully!) malt. Sticky and slightly syrupy medium body, smooth and lightly creamy, laces well despite seemingly lower carbonation, low bitterness, touch boozy and the fruity esters are generic and hard to define. Alcohol dangerously well hidden, though. Richness without cloy. Very happy with the overall product, really gets to the soul of a porter and marks a snuffed evolutionary line I wish we'd kept following. [2018.01.30: 4.1]

Dark brown almost black color with medium brown creamy head. Aroma coffee, earth, cocoa. Taste full mouth, coffee, chocolate, milk, dark fruit, roasted malt, alcohol hint. Chocolate aftertaste.

Pours dark ruby mahogany with thick, foamy head. Aroma is roast, chocolate and a hint of honey. Taste is sweet caramel and herbal notes, warming to chocolate and roast and finishing with nutty flavor. A really good stout.

nuplastikk (6633) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 12, 2018
11.2oz bottle as Antwerpen Stout. Brown-black body. Off-white/beige head. Rather fruity, raisin tones. Full bodied, really reminds me on an island stout. Not really much finesse, I would hope this actually isn't what is on the low countries market, and was brewed gimmickly for the US market. Too sugary. Not that impressive.

mmmeinike (435) - Odense, DENMARK - JAN 11, 2018
Dark brown almost black with a light brown creamy head. Aroma is sweet malt, brown sugar, fruit, coffee and chocolate. Taste of roasted malt, caramel, dark fruit, chocolate, licorice and coffee.

ElDesmadre (4395) - Mikołów, POLAND - JAN 2, 2018
Bottle, early 2017. Buttery-toffee aromas, light sulphury egg notes, dried and light smoked plum, red fruit esters, subtle licorice. Light, almost lactic tartness in the flavour, where it gets more (dried) fruity and the licorice gets stronger. Sort of a letdown, light flawed beer with a disappointing aroma.
