Gulden Draak, lonely at the top for 25 years, now gets company
The birthday present: Gulden Draak 9000 Quadruple, an enrichment of the Gulden Draak range.
An ode to the past and to the city of (9000) GHENT The Gulden Draak is named after the gilded statue on top of the belltower of Ghent. Such eminent symbol, that has been standing firm for over 6 centuries, deserves equally grand beers. The unsurpassed Gulden Draak as dark tripel of 10,5% alcohol gets, after 25 years of growing success, quite an addition, the Gulden Draak 9000 Quadruple.

All features of the Gulden Draak The extremely rich and complex taste sensation and the stable beer head can also be found in the Gulden Draak 9000 Quadruple. The sweet caramel touches, however, are still reserved for the Gulden Draak.

With addition of extra malt The new recipe, on basis of 3 different kinds of malt added in a volume of 4 times the content in lager, provide the Gulden Draak 9000 Quadruple with a deep golden amber colour and a fruity scent. Together with the smooth and subtle sweet taste ensures this a wonderfully accomplished bouquet.

In line with the traditions of Brewery Van Steenberge Just like the other specialty beers of Brewery Van Steenberge is the Gulden Draak 9000 Quadruple a beer of high fermentation with secondary fermentation. A wine yeast is used for the secondary fermentation, which also contributes to the grandiose taste.

DWF kobber litt uklart med flott skum. Aroma og smak karamell gjær frukt. Smak meget søt balansert. God Ettersmak. Co2 middels. Var perfekt til Spice blåskjell

Bottle. Cloudy orange, Offwhite rocky foam. Super sweet dark sugar aroma with a bit of fermenting fruit play. Full body yet fizzy. Sugary sweet entry, estery fruity notes - not particular clean ones either. Deceptively light on the palate, but I am not sure it covers the bum demographics well either. Pretty much booze with a few aromatics thrown in. Definitely not over 9000!

UPDATED: APR 5, 2017 Bottle. Reddish amber-orange color with nice head. Aroma is brown sugar, raspberry jam, apricots. Taste is estery, sugary, raspberries and apricots again, cloying. Warming finish, sugary sticky mouthfeel. High foamy carbonation. Definitely not my favourite, it mixes everything I hate about Belgian beer and not in the best possible way.

Almost perfect. Nothing bad.i simply have favs. The beer is totally drinkable, like whole bottle drinkable. The color is awesome, head robust, palate simply smooth and resplendent. The palate yields a hint of spice ever so cloyingly. Yummy good-gat-dayum. Well balanced beer. Impressive.

Mooi donkeroranje/amberkleurig bier met stevige volle witte schuimkraag. Zoetig aroma van amandel, caramel, mout, beetje appelsien. Mooie volle smaak met een lange zacht-warme afdronk. Caramel, cassonade, toffee, perzik. Mooi bier.

Shared 11.2 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy golden hue with a large foamy off-white head. Aroma of dark fruit, malt, spice and yeast. Taste follows nose with plum, raisin and lots of alcohol. Finish is very boozy.

mygeekway (176) - Grodków, POLAND - MAR 11, 2017
UPDATED: MAR 12, 2017 Pachnie przyprawami jak to Belgia. Smakuje słodowo lekko rodzynki wolny. Całkiem ciekawe piwo.

Pours super clear amber with a fluffy head that fades. Lighter than expected. From tap. Aroma is all stone fruit. Plum. Dark. Really inviting.taste is delicious. Sweet but well attenuated. Rich fruit flavors. Some raspberries. A tiny bit spicy. Has some sharpness upfront, palate wise. Bubbly. Delicious.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear amber with a medium foamy head and an aroma of caramel, alcohol, black berries, grape, white wine, apple pie and honey. The taste is medium to heavy sweet with a sugarry sweetness that sticks to the lips, the carbonation is sparkling and there’s some slight bitterness and acidity in the finish. Pretty nice
