Bottle. Beautiful red-brown colour. Sweet choclatey aroma. Also raisins port wine and orange. Taste is malty and choclatey. This beer is overall too sweet and clean. Rodders (137) - Norwich, Norfolk, ENGLAND - JAN 25, 2009
What a beautiful beer in every sense of the word. Smells strongly of alcohol when poured but taste isn’t overly present, just warms the throat plesently. Appearance is of a strong, dark beer. Hints of fruit, with a sweet caramel taste that lingers well. Truely an enjoyable beer. pj1855 (160) - Eagan, Minnesota, USA - JAN 25, 2009
Outstanding beer. Pours a dark brown with a good sized light brown head.
Aroma of malts, spice and some alcohol.
Flavor - Perfect combination of sweet malt and spice. Very smooth for 10.5 abv. cluny6 (115) - Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - JAN 23, 2009

This is an interesting beer, though a bit too sweet for my taste. Pours a beautiful dark brown with a nice full head. Very interesting mix a flavors and aromas. A beer to be sampled and savored, not rushed. WeeHeavySD (3387) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 22, 2009
330ml bottle from Whole Foods. Shared with dalekliz. Pours dark brown tan head. Nose is sweet and light. Taste is sweet with a rich caramel malt backbone. Pretty nice, quad, surprised I ignored for so long. Amaj80HC (13) - 9, BELGIUM - JAN 20, 2009
This beer is in many ways similar to the numero uno. But beats it in every aspect. For this reason alone i sell my ten crates of Westvleteren. No more hypes for me. sdriessen (320) - Dunedin, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 20, 2009
Bit of a gusher! 33cl bottle, gift from donfardz64.
Pours a very dark amber colour with a thin, brown head.
Aroma begins with a hit of cinnamon, milk chocolate and clove. Fruits such as apple and raisin, supported by a cereal malt base. Only a hint of alcohol in the nose.
Flavours are nice and malty, with a mellow, yeasty flavour.
This one is quite spicy, lots of cinnamon, some aniseed and pepper. These work well with the high alcohol to make each sip very warming.
Fruity flavours, such as apple, apricot, dates and raisins, all mingling with vanilla and toffee.
Full bodied, with a mildly bitter/yeasty finish. Delicious.
