COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gulden Draak is a high fermentation beer with secondary fermentation. For the secondary fermentation, wine yeast is used. The white bottle, the black banner, the golden dragon and the red letters, constitute a stylish result that has no equal among the many Belgian special beers. Gulden Draak can be drunk as an aperitif or dessert, or whenever you have the time to sit back and relax. But this barley wine is also perfect with and in stews, especially the Ghent variety. It is also a plus in sauces for red meat, such as a bordelaise. It is particularly suited as a dessert beer, especially in combination with dark chocolate.

A damn fine beer. Very, very malty. Almost like a dopple bock. Very rich..chewy...with all the great flavors of dried fruit carried along by the warmth of the alcohol. Really enjoyed this one!

Deep brown body with a huge, beige, long-lived head that laces the glass well. Strong aroma that initially feels a bit dusty and chalky, but after a couple of minutes delicious notes of Belgian yeast start emerging. Also dark caramel and dark dried fruits. Very strong flavour of powerful Belgian fruity and spicy yeast, dried fruits, caramel and brown sugar. Full body and moderate carbonation. A truly wonderful beer!

330 ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy chestnut brown with a huge coarse off-white head. The aroma is lightly yeasty with some caramel malt and a light hoppy bitterness. Full body with a medium carbonation and a heavy sweetness and a light bitterness. The flavor is heavily malty, caramel, brown sugar, raisins, dates, dried fruits honey along with some alcohol.

hazy chestnut brown color, small light beige head that disappears quite fast but leaves laces on the glass, aroma of raisins and plums, very intense taste that pairs with sweetness: raisins, dark berries, plums, cognac, medium bitterness almost without hoppyness, medium carbonated

Ruby-like colour, sweet and caramel. Love the liveliness of this beer. High alcohol content gives warm sensation. Quite sugary, but in a good way. Keeps its head.

Creamy beige head left a frothy cover on a murky brown body. Malty, boozy & dark fruits aroma. Medium to full body. Smooth on the palate with minimal carbonation. Sticky but dry on the aft. Sweetish to the fore with plum, hints of whisky, raisin, brown sugar, licorice & a slight tangy grape taste on the back. Long aftertaste.
