Bottle 62.5cl., thank you Gifty for bringing it along from Ghana, poured into a stem lager glass. Clear pale golden, small frothy white head, mostly diminishing, light lacing: aroma sweet malts, corn, straw; taste medium sweet and light to medium bitter, malty, grainy, sugary, cardboard; sweetbitter aftertaste, light hoppy notes, hint of pepper; medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation; what to say?

My third Third World pale lager in three days and my devotion to racking up a healthy country tick count is showing somes signs of strain. First of all, it seems to be some sort of west African tradition to sell massive 625ml bottles when a sampler would do me just fine, but I guess no one said this was going to be an easy job. Just buckle down and get through it. Pours clear gold from the bottle and leaves a white head of relatively short retention. Aroma is cereal, a bit of honey. Taste is lightly sweet, finish is short with a light grainy bitterness. The palate is nice — smooth and refreshing. But overall this is a fairly generic pale lager without a lot of character. Still over half the bottle left and my mood is souring. A really bad beer would be easy — drainpour and the next please. But this one is just over the border of pale lager decency. It tortures you with golden reproach — I came all the way from Africa, I’m drinkable, you can’t just throw me down the drain! You paid more for me than some people in Ghana earn in a day.
And still it sits there, big and massive, and now it’s going flat. It’s not going to get any better. And there is a black IPA waiting in the fridge. Do I want to spend my whole alcohol for the night on this?
Thank God there’s always the wife to bail me out of problems like this.

625 ml bottle drunk at Roots Hotel, Accra. We are in macro territory and this one is not the worst of the bunch: well-carbonated, not too metallic and even some bitterness. OK. climberbob (497) - Virginia, USA - OCT 26, 2016
Big bottle in Accra. Drinkable for a crappy macro Larger that is not as sweet or grainy as some of the other offerings.

Bottle 0,625ltr: Clear golden colored brew with an slightly sweet bitter taste, its an very crisp thirstquencher of an beer. Slightly different than the Nigerian version with sorghum, thats one have something more of een corn taste. Bought this one at an Ghanese shop in Antwerp near the station.

I think this brew is a bit superior to Star lager, the only other Ghanian beer I've had the opportunity to sample. Still essentially the same style - euro macro lager - but in this case, features less adjunct presence. Pours a bronzed golden color, just looks faded and not as appealing as others. Aroma is grainy malt, grassy hops, but also some skunkiness. Taste is a grainy and sweet maltiness, a faint hint of adjuncts but only if you look for it, not too bad. Flavor is a bit weak and thin, just a macro lager that avoids drifting too far in the adjunct direction. Hoppiness is light and pleasant, drinkable but nothing exceptional. On par with the standard euro lagers. MrHangover (4693) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - MAY 13, 2015
Bottle. Pours a clear golden beer with a big white head on top. Aroma is very skunky, malty and cardboard. Flavor is moderately sweet, loads of carbonation and fizzy stuff going on here. Really not very impressed here, but I didn’t expect much either. MichaelAwesome (6545) - Wanne-Eickel, GERMANY - AUG 27, 2014
Haben wir hier beim lokalen Inder geholt. Nettes Lager ohne große Ambitionen. Leicht mit Reis im Hintergrund und etwas Mais. Dumpf, jedoch trinkbar. Keine große Nummer. McTapps (6976) - Reutlingen, GERMANY - AUG 27, 2014
Bottle from an international shop in Herne. Pours out in a clear golden colour with low head and medium body. Aroma of malt and grains. Taste of mild hops, bread, grains, flowers and straw. Thin and grainy finish. Average Pale Lager. Swaroga (2224) - Warszawa, POLAND - JUL 1, 2014
Piwo jest przejrzyste o kolorze jasnego zlota. Piana jest malutka i biala. Dobry lacing. Ogolnie nie ma co o tym piwie powiedziec. Lekko estrowe o cytrusowej goryczce, ktora jest bardzo delikatna.
