On tap at Arendsnest. Clear gold pour with lacy white head. Aroma is malty, light grassy aromas, some metallic and husky grainy notes. Taste is really light, light bready maltiness, light metallic twang, somewhat bland. Palate is light bodied, a bit watery with medium carbonation. Ok. Pours out of the bottle in a clear light golden colour with low airy head and medium body. Aroma of hops and malt followed by a taste of hops, rye, straw, malt, citrus and grass. Dry-bitter finish. Not a bad one. tom10101 (6135) - Quebec, CANADA - MAY 19, 2014
On tap @ Proeflokaal Arendsnest. Clear bright golden with a small white head and heavy lacing. Aroma is of cereals, grassy notes, noble hops and floral presence. Taste is also of cereals, grassy/floral notes with a nice touch of lemon. Light/medium body. Moderate carbonation. Crisp and clean. Not a bad pils at all. Refreshing and quenching. I think this one is a bit underrated. goozen (4081) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - MAY 9, 2014

They are trying to make it seem that this beer is high-class or ’excellent’. It is anything but. Sweet, malty, just not very good. the castle it is named after is dilapidated, this beer too.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein goldgelbes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch malzig hopfig, grasig. Geschmack hopfig malzig, leicht fruchtig herb, getreidig. VincentKabel (263) - Haarlem, NETHERLANDS - APR 9, 2014
Golden color with a white head. Medium carbonation. With the first sniff you immediately detect the typical czech pilsener aroma. A sweet taste balacned with a nice hoppy aftertaste. Good pilsener. GoufCustom (2029) - HONG KONG - APR 2, 2014

330 ml blue bottle bought at ParkNShop Superstore in Fanling.
Clear dull golden yellow colour; Razor thin head and soapy white foam which fades in 10 seconds; Very small sticky lacing and quite fizzy carbonation; Quite pungent smell of malt, with fairly light initial skink (totally gone in 1 minute), bread, dough, honey, very light floral, lemon and grass; Light sweet taste of fairly light malt, with light honey, light flower, bread, light dough, dry biscuits, lime, light earth, quite strong bitter hops and sharp grass; Mid to light body, dry and crisp palate; Mouth feel is Czech Pils with strong honey and floral hoppy characters. Dry lean body, Malty on a slightly light side, good light honey with molasses undertone, nice light flower petals. Good bread and biscuits. Light earthy hops came through as beer warms. Nice!... Hoppiness really flourish: neat floral, nectar, lemon and grass aroma, good flower and lime in taste. Moderately strong bitter hops close to German Pils for a nice, lasting bitter finish; Dry after taste. Crisp and bitter to mouth.
Comments: After Pilsner Urquell, this is the next best Czech Pils available in HK supermarkets, and it is made in Netherlands. How about that? Slightly thin malt aside, the flowery and earthy Noble hops really make this a very enjoyable session Pilsener. I’ll stock this one for watching World Cup!
Gulpener Chateau Neubourg has a thin, off-white head, a golden, bubbly, somewhat murky appearance, and a good amount of lacing left behind. The aroma is strong and pungent- strong barley malt, a touch of hop resin, and biscuit. Taste is similarly strong, with a noticeable sugary sweetness and a grassy hop bitterness for balancing. Mouthfeel is medium, and Gulpener Chateau Neubourg finishes mostly dry, filling, and good. Check it out! RJT MarcoDL (5028) - NETHERLANDS - JAN 26, 2014
Typical lager beer. Grainy and mildly bitter. This one has an unpleasant bitter aftertaste.
