Bottle 30cl. Ruby coloured with a tiny off white head that fades quickly. Aroma reminds of fall. Some malts and sugar too. The taste is strange. It starts with a mild sweetness which turns quickly in bitterness and then a chemical aftertaste. Disappointing...

In Holland most brewers do a bock as a seasonal special in the fall. this one is as I remember from years ago. Almost a seperate category, the Dutch bock. A bit sweet mild burned malts nice bitter aftertaste. It lacks depth where other brewers such as La Trappe offer a more interesting season’s brew.

0.33L bottle. Pours clear brown with a light tan head. Aromas of caramel, cherry, alcohol and iron. Mild sweetness with decent malt flavors or caramel and cereal grain. Not much in the middle, then finishes with bitter roasted malt and herby hop flavors. Medlum-light body with a thin mouthfeel and active carbonation. Overall, only mediocre profile overall. Some ok aromas and flavors, but not that well-balanced and nothing really standing out.

Drank with ’Kees Huub’ at Riks place in Molenhoek 27-9-2014. The best supermarket-bok for me. Nice look, brown with perfect foam. Okay taste. Sweet, ’warm’, pleasant. A bit flat, but still nice.

Don’t over analyse - just enjoy ! A superb full flavoured beer to be drunk when away from UK - although I’ve just bought a quantity in Holland to bring back home ! Yes, it’s that good !

A typical bock. Malty, Slightly roasted, some caramel and some hops with a sweet smooth finish. Dark in colour and a firm off-white head with some medium carbonation. Decent bock, not a great one.

Bottle @ home. Clear deep dark red to purple color, medium sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, some caramel, a hint of alcohol, slightly sweet-bitter and a hint of leaves. Average to medium body and carbonation.
