Pilsner beer with standard bright yellow color. Taste gives the idee of something herbal. Because of this, not really my style

A relatively normal pilsner that shows some character with a sharper bitterness and a dry aftertaste. Makes it stand out from the crowd a bit. Brand, from the neighbouring village of Wijlre, is marginally better than this though.

Tasted 14/4/2013 330ml can BB 7/5/2013. Poured as a clear golden colour with a one- to two-fingerr white foamy head that collapsed quickly and laced a little. Aroma of sweet malt. Taste of malt followed by a not so nice hops bitterness. Light body. Short rough bitter finish. Not my style.

A bit too sweet but pretty decent Lager. Not much character though. Plain and simple beer.

Draught at Drie Ringen Brewery. Had this after I tasted some of Drie Ringens own beers. Which made this a very dissapointing beer. Too much bitterness for something which would otherwise be a nice refresing pilsner.

Bottle shared with MichaelBruch. Light golden colour, steady head. Taste is just awful. Bitter hops, strong flavour of old socks what made my stomach turning aroung while drinking this. Worst beer in a long time.

Bottle shared with McTapps. Hard to say what is the worst about that beer. Maybe the non-aroma or the non-taste. Maybe the thing that this beer is watery and tastes like a rotting bread. Maybe, maybe.

For some reason I am fond of Gulpener, maybe because I dont find it so often in my local supermarket, maybe because the first crate I bought came with some tupil bulbs.. Appearance is typical for a pilsner, golden yellow colour with a two finger head, average retention, and quite an activity in the glass.Smells as any other cheap lager out there, this is not how I remember it, or I wasnt as educated in beer as before I join BA. Drinking it out the bottle played its role too. Taste is better but nothing above the average, slighty bitter and malty. Average thickness and carbonation on the body, leaves some dryness on the palate. Overall, pleasantly drinkable but Gulpener has better ones to offer, then again if you just want a pilsnerer this will cover you. And as their slogan is "To the future" (where hopefully this beer wil improve a bit).

@Backlog gouden kleur met grijzige kraag aroma van iets van hooi, verder zeer licht wat zoetig met licht bittere smaak wat droge afdronk

Very clear, golden body lot of fizz and a foamy frothy grey head. Light aroma with some classic pilsner malts and dry leaves. Misses hop aroma. Taste is better, nice mild bitterness, carbonation not too heavy. It?s still a very standard pilsner, but better than expected. (30cl bottle)
