2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
(on bottle) I´m aware that taste differs form person to person, but I´m gonna take a moment here and lecture about taste trails in beers. It´s a ni ce dark golden red beer with a white head. The aroma is heavy malted and slightly herbish, somewhat sweet and cake like. Drinking the beer gives a lesson in why a brewer needs to use the whole range of taste in his construction of the brew. Using a heavy malted english styled beer as background for such a oily, rich and rustic herb as rosmary, is bound to get way too sweet, singled lined and cloying, on the brim to be undrinkable. At 5,2 and a very low carbonation level, the beer looses any chance to get any balance. Too bad, ´cause I´m gonna be at Kulinarisk Sydfyn the whole weekend. Maybe storing it in one of the icehoses on the harbour could help?

Bottle, courtesy of Christianscheffel. A clear, dark amber beer with a small, beige head. A very malt-dominated beer with a herbal note and some chocolate. The flavor too is malt-dominated, some chocolate and herbal notes too. Some meaty notes. Full-bodied. Some sweetness in the finish, which else has caramel maltyness. A quite nice one, but not a beer I would spend lots of money buying. 100814 Christian (13670) - Odense, DENMARK - OCT 23, 2010
