Their flagship beer, brewed from Carared and Melanoidin malts specially kilned for us in Bavaria. the distinguishing feature of this delicately balanced beer si its unique red hue. There is an estery aroma, slightly peachy with redwood undertones, brought about by controlled fermentation with bottom fermenting yeast. the sweet honey malty burst quickly gives way to the classic noble hop flavours imparted by Hallertauer Mittlefruh hops, also from Germany.

Red and orange in body with an off-white head. Much better head poured but hardly lasting and less lacing, some caramel in the taste followed by light lemon hops, none of the advertised spice. Not lager offensive.

UPDATED: JUN 15, 2005 Draught at AIBA, Melbourne. Amber colour, small head. Strawberry aroma. The mouthfeel is primitively clean and hard. There’s notes of peach and only low bitterness. I couldn’t find much that caught my interest in this beer.

Now known simply as "Red Lager". Nice fiery red colour. Head retention is OK. Sweaty yeast aroma with a fair dose of fruitiness and grassy hop. Seems like a couple more weeks of lagering would clear it up nicely. Firm Melanoidin maltiness, not sweet, with hop flavour at the end. Firm bitterness. Alcohol is evident. Seems quite bock-like. A bit rough but actually quite likeable.

On tap, aroma was just noticeable floral hop and a tiny amount of roastiness. Looks clear red/orange, nothing wrong with how it looks. Fairly mild toffee & a bit grainy giving way to a bitter aftertaste. Quite watery though refreshing.

Very polite Ale. To me it was little Belhaven-y. Some tartan underpants: I don't understand what style this is.

nfob03. looks pretty orange for a red beer. for all the effort that the commercial description suggests that they put in, this still tastes very extracty, it's unfizzy and dull and tastes of porridge. but it is smooth and drinkable

At AIBA 2003. A dark amber beer. Very swwet aroma and flavour without much hop contribution. I must agree with the others though, extra points for quick drinkability.

Sweet and Peachy is the best way to describe this beer. Very easy to drink, low on the hops as well.

I found this to be my favorite of the lot in their stable. Nice full flavour and I agree with duff, easy to the pint.

duff (5486) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUN 1, 2002
Pretty tame. Not much aroma (perhaps a bit of sweetish malt aroma), a bit sweet at the start, and finishes very quickly, little or no hop presence, easy to drink.
