Sweet grain and bread malts, light caramel, oat, wheat. Clear gold, medium, frothy, white head. Light sweet. More grain and cereal malts, bread, light bitterness coming up, lively carbonation, medium bodied. The Pale Lager I grew up with, boring yet quire quaffable. Bottle at some random mountain hat in the Bernese Oberland.

Kurze Review von Untappd: "Unverbesserlich seit 1864" steht als Header. Wohl eher "Besser weder nüt sit 1964" Aber besser als Fledschlösschen!

Bottle in Bern. Clear yellow pour, thin white broken head. Seemed like more of a wheat beer than a lager! Medium sweet with quite low bitterness and not much at all on the palate. Quite drinkable on a hot summers day and deserves a higher rating IMO.

Bottled (thanks omhper!). Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is grainy, mild rubber, fruits as well as some herbal notes. Flavour is cardboard, some mild tartness as well as grain and hay.

Bottled, thanks Bov! Clear pale golden, rich firm head. Slight aroma of husk and grass. Dryish with light body and clean mouthfeel. Grainy and slighly citric. Low bitterness. Highly inoffensive lager with some refreshing qualities.

Tap at Gurten Music Festival. Darker yellow color that nearly had a muddy quality closing on amber in some ways. Fluffy pure white head. Aroma of next to nothing, little bit of an herbal hop that’s about it. Flavor is a bit more hoppy than expected and certainly a bit better than other pale lagers out there. Very thin, watery body. Only palatable when one is very thirsty, tired of Cardinal, and/or the brew is served very cold.

Embrouille (2854) - SWITZERLAND - FEB 11, 2009
Bottled 50cl. Appearance: It pours a clear pale yellow beer. Not much lacework. Aroma: Chestnuts, lemonade, soy sauce and ginger showing up. Soapy. Flavor and palate: Cider-like with hints of lemonade and ginger. Watery. Acidic. Low bitterness. Soapy. Very poor malt and hop profile. Reminiscent burnt plastic in the finish. Overall impression: Very poor. Probably rather easy drinkable.

Jukkabro (3484) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 19, 2007
Light yellow colored, little white head. Basic lager with fruity nose and mild hoppy character. Thin to medium bodied, slightly watery palate. Flavor is more German-hopped with lemony fruits. Basic one.

(Tap) Pours golden with almost no head. Rather bland, with some hoppy and malty aromas. Watery, and seemingly unbalanced.

Pale beer with a light white fizzy head and a lightly dry aroma. The flavour is lightly dry with a malty finish. Overall a reasonable beer.
