The beer looks amazing, like every stout. I love stout. The colour of the beer is pitch black on the naked eye, in some light it looks dark brown. Strong light shows a lovely ruby red color. On top of the beer a nice layer of soft, creamy brown foam is poured. The looks are quite perfect for a stout. I guess it’s gonna be good. The smell of the beer is good. It is a little bit mild though. I wished it would be a tiny bit stronger. I mainly smell malts. There are some toasty malt aroma’s, some roasts and a nice touch of liquorice. There aren’t clear hop aromas. The taste of the beer is better. It is a stronger than the smell, and more flavourful. There are amazing flavors of roasted barley. There is a nice touch of chocolate, some coffee and a nice savoury toast touch. It is good and well balanced. There is a tiny fresh hop taste. It is a good stout. The palate of the beer is good. There is a nice medium body, smooth and slightly creamy texture and a medium carbonation, which is quite high compared to most stouts. The finish is nice and quite long, and contains some nice bitters and roast flavours. Lovely stout.

Bottle as Das Schwarze Schaf. Black body tan fast disappearing head. Aroma is malts, dark roasted malts some dried fruits and hints of honey. Taste is also roasted malts, vanilla dark chocolate. Aftertaste is roasted malts bitterness slightly balanced by some malty sweetness.

Blueshawk (465) - Bad Bellingen, GERMANY - DEC 19, 2016

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks zvikar. Black with a tan head. Nice roasty aroma with chocolate, a bit of coffee. Bittersweetish flavor, roasty, with coffee, a bit of chocolate, and a bit of yeast. Medium-bodied. A bit too light.

PowY (758) - AUSTRIA - MAY 19, 2016
330 ml bottle Pours dark brown with an average creamy light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt. Caramel and mild coffee. Medium watery body with soft carbonation. Moderate sweet and slightly sour and a little fruity initial taste but too dominated by the roasted malt. Finish with smooth bitterness and an long aftertaste of coffee. Average stout.
