Bottle: Amber to deep amber coloured, small lacy off-white head, fruity-caramelly nose with a tinge of molasses and light, but distinctive traces of roasted malt; light to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied; bitter-sweet toasty finish. Quite O.K. …

Das Schwarze Schaf. Zwart bier zonder schuim. Smaak is licht zoet en licht bitter met iets van koffie, bittere chocolade en lichte rooksmaak. Zou iet meer body moeten hebben om echt goed te zijn.

33ml Bottle at Walle’s Burger. Pours pitch black. Thin head disappearing fast. Very roasty tastes and a rather dry and bitter finish. The beer is quite flat and lacks of body and mouthfeel.

330 ml bottle. Almost black colour, small head with low durability, some lacing, soft carbonation. Nose is toasted/burnt malt, dark chocolate. Flavour is smoky, acidic, burnt coffee. The smoke is also dominant in the aftertaste. Not my cup of tea.

Gangstergafje (1144) - Capelle aan den IJssel, NETHERLANDS - MAR 12, 2017
The beer looks amazing, like every stout. I love stout. The colour of the beer is pitch black on the naked eye, in some light it looks dark brown. Strong light shows a lovely ruby red color. On top of the beer a nice layer of soft, creamy brown foam is poured. The looks are quite perfect for a stout. I guess it’s gonna be good. The smell of the beer is good. It is a little bit mild though. I wished it would be a tiny bit stronger. I mainly smell malts. There are some toasty malt aroma’s, some roasts and a nice touch of liquorice. There aren’t clear hop aromas. The taste of the beer is better. It is a stronger than the smell, and more flavourful. There are amazing flavors of roasted barley. There is a nice touch of chocolate, some coffee and a nice savoury toast touch. It is good and well balanced. There is a tiny fresh hop taste. It is a good stout. The palate of the beer is good. There is a nice medium body, smooth and slightly creamy texture and a medium carbonation, which is quite high compared to most stouts. The finish is nice and quite long, and contains some nice bitters and roast flavours. Lovely stout.

Creamy lightbrown good mostly lasting head. Black colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Light bitter slightly roasted lactose flavor.

Blueshawk (465) - Bad Bellingen, GERMANY - DEC 19, 2016
