From bottle. Pours a very hazy mahogany with an off-white head. Intense aroma of sweet malts, fruity with overripe apples and pears, marzipan, honey, brown sugar, molasses, smoke, wood and some alcohol. Full oily body with a very low carbonation, a medium sweetness and a light to medium bitterness, again with some noticeable alcoholic notes. Full malty flavor: dried fruits, caramel, brown sugar, hints of cocoa and licorice and again faint woody notes, vanilla. Excellent complex beer. Quite complex flavors of caramel, berries, prunes, toffee, vanilla, sweet with slightly tart and bitter finish, quite balanced, alcohol is well hidden. Medium-full bodied, silky smooth. Very nice. Bottle sample at a tasting at Lior D’s place. Thanks zvsn. Hazy deep reddish amber. Aroma of malt, caramel, cookies, fruitiness. Sweet flavor with malt, caramel, fruitiness, light sourish note, cookie note, and a faint bitterish note. Medium-bodied, rounded. Good, alcohol is well-concealed.

500ml bottle. Opaque, darkest brown colour with thin bubbly, beige layer. Malty aroma, notes of chocolate sauce, nuts, nougat, marzipan, some treacle, bitter fruity interludes of orange zest and grapefruit. Taste is minimally alcoholic, sweet malty, slightly bitter, notes of almond, marzipan, hints of red berry jam, some milk chocolate, treacle; viscous texture, smooth and soft palate. Harmonious, balanced, rich and manifold - but I’ve simply no need for this kind of beer. Beerhammaren (1815) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - SEP 12, 2016
.5l bottle. Thanks to Euphemos. Rated at Hanniku’s cave 2.0. Pours dark cloudy brown/reddish brown. Aroma is honey, dark malts, syrup, burned sugar, dried fruits, caramel, hops. Flavor is mostly same. Swell! massingasetta (781) - München, GERMANY - JUN 19, 2016
There is probably an initiation process whether you are an all-round beer taster in which you need to drink one of these are not show signs of cringing. I do appreciate the Barley Wine taste - it beams me back to the middle ages, where this beer was drank after swordsplay. Independent of this, this beer is just too strong and heavy. The learning process to getting a grip of such a beer is not here yet - sry. msbernac (2864) - Krakow, POLAND - JUN 12, 2016
