COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gusswerk Nicobar IPA is inspired by the journeys of Austrian ships sailing from Trieste to the Nicobar Islands. They were carrying a special brew destined for the only Austrian colony in the Indian Ocean, established in the reign of Her Majesty Empress Maria Theresia of Austria. Ingredients: water, organic barley malt, organic hops (Hallertau Tradition, Simcoe, Citra, Cascade), yeast.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, copper to deep amber colour with a medium-sized tanned foamy head. Bready toast-malty aroma with caramel, peppery spice and delicately fruity hoppy notes. Bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Hearty toasted malt character with notes of bread crusts, caramel on a delicately fruity hoppy background; bitter-sweet toasty malty finish with a rising hops profile towards the aftertaste, containing mildly fruity and spicy notes. Heavily malty IPA, reminding me more of a dark Bock, nevertheless a likeable brew. 20.X.12

From 0,33 L bottle; pours cloudy, orange to light-brown coloured with a white head. Aroma is heavy hoppy and fruity with citrus, grapefruit, also resin and some malts. Taste is resiny, less fruity than the aroma. Medium bitterness, slightly sweet in the finish. Average carbonation, medium body. Nice one, which is on the resiny hand.

Shared with wim at my home. Amber colored beer with small white head and no carbonation. Hopped spicy aroma. Full sparkling palate. Finish is sweet fruited hopped bitter.

The discriminating aspect in this beer is the warm round taste. But not the shish of a real IPA.

Aus der Flasche im Fritz Brauhaus in Stralsund getrunken. Dunkles, trübes Amber im Glas. Geht so, aber nicht überragend.

33cl fles. Troebel amber kleur, middelfijne romige creme schuimkraag. Aroma van tropisch fruit en dennen. Smaak is zoet, ananas, lychee en citrus. Vol lichaam, veel koolzuur.

Hazy blond colour with lasting head. Aroma and flavour have light tropical fruit. Quite malty and smooth.

hauxe (712) - Butzbach, Hesse, GERMANY - FEB 7, 2017
Pours murky orange from the bottle. The huge, foamy crown rapidly dissipates. Aromas of maracaja and mango greet the nose. There is also a vague yeasty, bready undertone. The taste is tart, lightly bitter, with noticeable resin, orange zest and spice. Body is medium but palate still feels brittle, thin, and fails to impart the depth of flavor I would expect from a really good IPA. A dry, pungent vinegary bitterness arises as we move into the finish. Okay, but kind of disappointing.
