A dry still cider. Available in 500ml filtered bottles and occasionally on draught (abv varies).
NB: Gwatkin sometimes produces draught versions that differ significantly from the bottled. If you rate a draught version please specify that and include details of the ABV and designated sweetness level (if provided).

The Foxwhelp apple is one of the oldest recorded varieties of cider apple, dateing back over 300 years. It is thought to have originated on the Herefordshire Gloucestershire borders, where it remains as popular today with commercial and traditional cider makers alike. The trees grow to a good height, bearing apples which are good for blending with the lesser varieties. However, it is best kept as a single variety, which produces a dry, crisp cider full of body and flavour.

ThirstyBird (2992) - Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - MAR 6, 2017
750 cl bottle, pours a clear golden color with a few tan bubbles ringing the glass. The smell is rich apple aroma, apple skin. The taste is super dry up front, some apple comes through and a lot of apple skin ending with a dry tongue and cheeks. The body is light with really no carbonation to speak of.

In cask at Williams. Best pub ever! Slightly cloudy. Extremely bitter and leaves a strong aftertaste but also delicious ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

apickles (594) - North Yorkshire, ENGLAND - APR 3, 2015
Beer festival at White Swan in Stokesley. Cloudy still amber/orange in colour. Vinegary sweet apply nose. Very watery at first but when swallowed has very strong sharp undescribable taste (not pleasant) leaves an extremely dry mouth and furry tongue. Really not to my liking in any way.

Plastic screw-cap bottle from Beers of Europe, King’s Lynn
Hazy amber color, no head. Aroma of vinegar an hazelnuts. No carbonation, rather high acidity, with a vinegar footprint, light flavor, no apples, very strong astringency.
For sure a cider with character, but a difficult and rough one.

faroeviking (11086) - Chupando chellas es como ellas, FAROE ISLANDS - SEP 6, 2012
Screw cap botella. Clear golden colour, small white short lasting head. Pleasant sweet apple aroma, mildly tart like. Good mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet with apples and light tartness, sweet apple finish.
