COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A still dry perry available in 750ml bottles and occasionally on draught. NB: Gwatkin sometimes produces draught versions that differ significantly from the bottled. If you rate a draught version please specify that and include details of the ABV and designated sweetness level (if provided).

The Thorn Pear is one of the oldest and most distinguished of all the perry pear varieties. As long ago as the 17th century it was recorded for its vintage qualities. Sadly, like many varieties of quality, it is now extremely hard to find, and it is mostly found on the borders of Herefordshire and Gloucestershire. An early ripening pear, it is harvested in early September. The perry produced from this single variety, has a very crisp, dry flavour and is often compared to white wine.
