It’s getting quite dark at the outdoor festival premises, so I’m not quite sure what colour this beer has. Dark brownish, I guess. Lovely strong aroma with tart berries, this must be the lingonberries shining through. Also lots of dried dark fruits, especially dried figs. Fruits and berries in the flavour as well, but more pronounced are smoke, sausage and smoked meat. Full bodied with lovely syrupy texture. A very special beer that I would love to taste for real some day!ej (1330) - Hauglandshella, NORWAY - AUG 25, 2012

Dark with small film of tan foam. Heavy peated aroma with some honey and dried meats. Taaste is very similar to the nose. Sweet, peaty and dried meats. Medium body. Steasy66 (1158) - Minnesota, USA - JUL 24, 2012
Taste at Papsoe’s, Cheers to OleR.
Deep brown, no head. Smokey, almost meaty aroma. Flavors of smoke, fruity esters, fairly flat. Nice and interesting beer. humlelala (1375) - DENMARK - JUL 15, 2012
UPDATED: MAY 12, 2013 (sample at Papsø’s; courtesy of OleR) Pours a slightly hazy brown with little, white head. Aroma is peaty and honey - quite harmonic really. Oily texture, flat carbonation, full body with a dry, peaty/ashen finish. Taste is slightly sweet with notes of caramel, peat, ashes and honey. An interesting take on a whisky-inspired beer. joergen (28949) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUL 15, 2012

Bottled. A murky dark brown beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, malt, and hay, as well a bit of smoke, leading to a dry smokey finish. yespr (47039) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - JUL 14, 2012
50 cl bottle. Pours hazy brown with a small white head. Aroma is dense smoked and tarish. Dark malty, toasted and smoked. Light plastic to tarish. Dark malty finish. cubs (10693) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JUL 14, 2012
Bottle @ Papsø. Thanks to OleR! Hazy reddish brown appearance with a very a small tan head. Very spicy, burnt smoky, tangy berry (almost cranberry like), charred aroma. Charred, mild char, tire fire smoky, strange berry pie flavor. Interesting but weird. Papsoe (25059) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUL 14, 2012
Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of OleR. Pours a dark brown with a vague orange hue and a small, rough off-white head. Heavy, smoky nose with a berryish touch. Medium body, very low in carbonation, sweet and fruity, quite some honey, herbs. No real bitterness. Wauw, so many things going on in there. Probably one of the most complex beers I’ve ever had! 140712 Beer5000 (6674) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JUL 3, 2012
On draft @ HaandBryggeriet Beer festival 2012. Dark reddish body with a small beige head. Almost intense aroma of honey and smoked malt with some caramel. Rather unusually flavor, definitively sweet, smoked malt, quite strong honey flavor and rather moderate bitterness. Fine body. Quite weird in flavors, lots of thing going on, but not necessary as a good thing and no real balance at all. Sorry, not my cup of beer and almost difficult to finish. Some extra pint for the effort.
