Bottle. Pours clear brown with short lived off white head. Strong nose of licorice and charred wood. Drinks with a sweet and smokey bite and mild lingering bitterness. Medium bodied. Tastes of smoke, wood, cherry, and licorice. Lively on the palate. Finishes sweet and smokey. A ton going on here, palate fatigue.

Flaske 0,5l på Vertshuset Skarven 28 Apr 13. Svart. Beskjeden bær/røykaroma. Smaken litt søt. Rt visst honningpreg men mye annet “rart” i smaksbildet. Mye sedimenter.

DWF; Friendship beer. Unionøl. Pours brown with a fast fading medium off-white head. Aroma of smoke, malt, wood, definitivly campfire. Taste adds lingonberries and more smoke. Medium bodied, oily texture with medium carbonation. Lasting smoke in finish. Too smoky. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

4oz at Churchkey DC. Pours a hazy, mahogany amber with some spitty white head. Nose hits you with spruce and dirt and pine needles, soap, some bread crust, mild smoke. Flavor starts out with rubber, some, wet dirt, mild smoke, pine, spruce, metal, malt. Full, industrial finish. Old World style for sure.

On tap at Churchkey. Cola brown color wit ha thin tan head. Aroma is smoked malt, wood, garbage and smoke. Like a tire fire in the dump. Any fruit character is lost behind the moldy smoked wood notes. Gross.

UPDATED: NOV 7, 2013 500ml bottle @Cimmeria. Roasty, smoky, caramel, berries and some medicament aromas(some iron complex for kids i can´t remember the name...). Pours murky dark copper with almost no head, flat carbonation. Oily texture, medium body. Taste is roasty, spicy, berries, caramel and some others. Very complex and weird one.

50cl bottle at home. One of the weirdest and moest particular beers I have ever tasted! Pours murcky dark brown with a reddish hue (like Rodenbach). The aroma is quite spectacular; imagine a perfect balance between honey, thick Oriental fish sauce and something vegetal (het middle between mint and coal). This alone is worth a 10!. Medium body with a sweet-sour mouthfeel, some roasty and smoked impressions towards the end. No bitterness. Taste is shoe polish/beewax/paint. Actually, from the bottle, this is not bad at all. Perhaps weird, but it’s right... in a way, I guess.
