Black pour with a huge, chunky tan head that stays huge for an annoyingly long time and leaves some good lacing. The foam just sitting there mocking me forever, keeping me from drinking lost a tick. Aroma of coffee, roast, roast nuts, dark chocolate, a decent amount of char, light smoke and earthy pine notes. Flavor is chocolate, coffee, roast, char, smoke and some of what seems like lactic acidity, light metallic and mineral notes, toast, earthy dark fruit and pine. The flavor is a bit hard to nail down because even though the bottle foamed over a bit on opening and the head exploded even with a fairly gently pour this stuff is still extremely over carbonated. With some waiting and swirling in the glass the carbonaiton dies down a bit, but then the acidic and metallic tastes seem stronger. Medium body with an explosive, sharp and blanketing carbonation and not much else to be described as the carbonation washes any other mouthfeel away. All in all other than the crazy carbonation I think it would be a pretty good beer, definitely not worth the $9 asking price in this condition though.

The pour reveals a pitch black color with small brown highlights and a medium brown head. The aroma has rich coffee and roasted malt. Very good flavor of coffee and roasted malt with a dry, bitter finish. The body is light to medium with a creamy texture and soft carbonation. This is a kick-ass coffee porter.

Wonderful coffee porter. Lots of...coffee and chocolate. Only 6.5 % abv but it feels like a imperial porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Black body with a light-brown head that is fairly long-lived, good lacing. Strong burnt, dry, ashy aroma with coffee and quite much yeast that is slightly metallic. Light sweet taste with a light bitter finish, also some very light sour notes. Flavours are cold and cheap filter coffee, yeast, ash and some faint berries. Medium body, dry texture, soft carbonation. A good one, but I had expected more. On the other hand, my palate was probably pretty screwed up by lots of tasting of homebrewed IPAs before I had this one.

Delicious. Basically black with inch of nice foam. Chocolate, toast, coffee run the show - nothing overpowering, all very well blended and balance. Sweetness/bitterness/coffee/etc. Tasted like good coffee too. I’d drink the beer without the coffee and the coffee without the beer. Together is awesome. Finely balanced, tons of flavour, proof it doesn’t have to be 10%+ abv to be so flavourful. Fiance who doesn’t like dark beer or coffee gave it the thumbs up - they must be doing something right.

Bottle from a trade with señor Palme. Straightaway my overall impression: I sincerely believe a porter can’t get any better than that. Almost black with a rather big head that managed to survive until the end of my rather long, extremely satisfying date with this beauty. Aroma is full-blown top quality coffee, black olives, licorice, port wine, pumpernikel bread, roasted malt, forest fruit and chocolate-coated marchpane. Rich, rich, rich. The rather high carbonation works surprisingly well here, the beer is not too heavy on the palate and at the same time deep in the flavour. Coffee, roasted malt and black olives are the main flavour ingredients, followed by an aftertaste of coffee, marchpane, roasted malt, pumpernikel bread and black olives. A masterpiece!

Bottle. Massive black body, medium thick beige head. Aroma is roasty, lots of coffee. Taste is also roasty with coffee, berries, chocolate. Warm feeling, notes of alcohol, lasting dry finish.

Really good coffee porter. The pour is purely black with a finger of dark tan head. The nose is sweet, hugely robust and well roasted. Big coffee torrefaction notes, dark chocolate and a few dark fruity notes. The taste is rather sweet and a big dessert richness in the middle. The finish has an impending roast with huge robust malts and espresso bitterness lingering into the aftertaste. A few caramel cola like notes also noted duly. Overall a fantastic coffee beer.
