Draft @ ACBF 2012: dark brown with a very thick café au lait head, very impressive looking, smells like bitter, ground-up breakfast coffee, taste is lots of mocha, surreally creamy for a beer, going towards ice cream, almost plain cream, café au lait, leading into grounded coffee, bitter coffee beans finish (not roasted), lots of bitter very dark chocolate, ridiculously creamy body, a coffee lovers dream (& I am not much of a coffee lover) taf (2) - NORWAY - JUL 31, 2012 does not count

Brune foncée, col épais crémeux moka.
Arôme de café et plein de bon café, légère pointe de houblon, mais le malt grillé et le café prennent le dessus, et ce n’est que du bon.
En bouche, mon idée d’une bonne bière au café, alors que je ne suis pas un buveur de café. Draft @ acbf. Aroma is huge mocca and coffee, some roast. Flavour is deep and full coffee and mocca, nice roasty liquorice notes. Awesome.

On tap at Baran, Bergen. Pours almost pitch black with a 1 inch creamy tanned head. Aroma develops as the beer warms up, so here is all sorts of lovely stuff; roasted malts, strong acidic coffee with some sour notes, i even sense some liquorice as well. Taste is more of the good stuff, coffee and roasted malts with the addition of a very smooth mouthfeel, the brain resist when the mouth wants to swallow, it´s too good to be swallowed. Nice lingering medium sweet roasted malts in the aftertaste. Haandbryggeriet have done it again, this one would be interesting to store for a year or two, magificent beer.

Pours a deep, opaque sable just a couple red tomcat whiskers above black with a fairly thick and fine-bubbled tan head. Aroma has notes of semi-sweet chocolate and coffee and hints of caramel and molasses. Coffee flavor has chocolate and caramel tones and is a little sweet, but not too sweet. Bottle from a trade with señor Palme. Straightaway my overall impression: I sincerely believe a porter can’t get any better than that. Almost black with a rather big head that managed to survive until the end of my rather long, extremely satisfying date with this beauty. Aroma is full-blown top quality coffee, black olives, licorice, port wine, pumpernikel bread, roasted malt, forest fruit and chocolate-coated marchpane. Rich, rich, rich. The rather high carbonation works surprisingly well here, the beer is not too heavy on the palate and at the same time deep in the flavour. Coffee, roasted malt and black olives are the main flavour ingredients, followed by an aftertaste of coffee, marchpane, roasted malt, pumpernikel bread and black olives. Wonderful coffee porter. Lots of...coffee and chocolate. Only 6.5 % abv but it feels like a imperial porter.
